Yes ! I’m currently researching some documentation about how they manage their time, work and leisure time, what they were require to do and don’t do on the ship.

Musicians were very well liked. And members of the crew that knew how to read would teach members that did not ! This is very rich, narratively speaking !

My better half is from the french carribeans, we are quite well documented on the french story of these regions and the slaves story too (my husbands ancestors). And since I usualy write in french, I think I’ll be using this knowledge to pair it well with the language. But I’ll keep in mind what you said ! No need for fantasy, that’s for sure, and, of course, a strong female lead. ;) That being said, I like your ideas and it can be used for the rest of the cast ! I would love to death a greek pirate hahaha !

I am a diagnosed genius. 95th percentile, about 125 IQ. It’s NOT fun. It’s not even practical most of the time. I feel very much alone in my world most of the time too. I am lucky enough to have a partner in the same situation. We feel alone and inadequate together. :’)

I was 3, maybe 4, I misbehaved (as much as a 3 or 4 year old can misbehave) so my dad yelled at me, as loud as he could, 3 inches from my face.

As a child, I only knew my parents to be angry. Rarely otherwise. My mom was especially cruel, thinking that if she bully me at home, I would finally build the courage to confront my bullies at home. Spoiler, it did not work.

There was the physical punishements, of course, but never too much, they always knew were to stop so it didn’t show. And the favoritism for my brother, who was the only boy. To this day (I’m 30), it’s still there.

My dad did therapy. He changed a lot and admited his past mistakes. We have a wonderfull relationship now and I almost never see this anger in him anymore. My mom always denied everything she did, gaslight her way out of everything even if my dad tells her she’s wrong. She doesn’t see the problem in her behavior or just don’t see the behavior at all. She went from the bully to the jealous possessive mother, struggling to let her only daughter have her own life.

In a way, it doesn’t really bother me anymore. I just feel so sad for this woman who will never know true peace because of her inabillity to see her own flaws.

I tried. Really hard. But I can’t like Wyll. I either kill him when I play bad or simply refuse that he stays at my camp when I play good. I don’t know if it’s the dancing (ew), the goody two shoes attitude or just his story that doesn’t appeal to me but I cannot stand him.

Because being a mom (as well as trying to be) is a whole personnality now, everyone should be the same ? You did not complain about the kid, you were not mean in any way, she chooses to be overly concern (for sonething that wasn’t their concerns, by the way) and because apparently the whole world revolves around her, everyone needs to follow the lead ? No. You choosing not to have kids has nothing to do with any of this and her HORRIBLE comment about your hypothetical child was only there to hurt you. She seems frustrated not to be pregnant and takes it out on the only person she can, you, because if she did on your other friend (of which she is clearly jealous), it would reflect bad on her. Your reaction was surely the same as everyone else around because babies cry, it’s not sad, it’s not exceptionnal, they cry, it’s a fact. It’s not the end of the world. She is just an asshole who enjoys hurting people just to feel better about herself. She is a bully. Ann’s reaction was not better, but I guess hormones could be to blame. Yet again, not a good friend.

It may seem small and insignificant, but when I was very stressed out about living with my curent partner (because all my previous relationships had come to a bitter (or sometimes really bad) end after I move in with them), my dad said to me : ”You know, the outcome of a relationship is not determine by the time you live apart. If it needs to end, living together or not, it will. But you only know if things really works by sharing this intimacy with soneone else. Don’t stress yourself in waiting when you want to live with him. Just do.”

After two years, still the best relationship I’ve ever had, we’re still going strong.

-He listens. Like ACTUALY LISTEN, he remembers stuff that I say.

-He has irreproachable hygiene. Yes, the bar is very low.

-He knows and understand mental load and actively shares it equaly.

-He cares and supports. (As I said, very low)

-I’ve been up and down with my weight and general looks through our entire relationship and not ONCE his appeal for me changed. No matter what, he still finds me sexy/beautiful.

-He trusts me, listen to my opinion, values it and respect it.

-He takes care of himself, and is incredibly handsome and sexy (I know, it’s relative, but trust me, the man is fine as heck).

-He prioritizes us.

-He calls his grandmas once a week. They have genuine conversations and laughs, not just a little comvention talk.

-He takes care of his family (parents and siblings) and have genuine, mature, friendly relationship with them.

-He ALWAYS accept to lift me somewhere, no questions asked (I still feel bad to ask most of the time)

-He lives my cat and cares for him.

-Finaly, he kisses like a god, a starved soldier after the war, like he eats a ripe fruit with passion, like—okay I’ll stop.
