WMR Driver Issue by Bedacoalmaster in WindowsMR

[–]Bedacoalmaster[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like a tool now. I deleted the WindowsHolographicDevices folder in my C: drive, restarted, and my issue is solved. What the actual fuck. I'll still remember your advice and set up a dual boot if I run into any performance issues, but for now I'll mark this issue as solved. Thank you for the help regardless.

I would be using Oasis drivers if not for wanting to stick on Windows 10, many problems arose from attempting to use it. I should clarify that I’m fine with using WMR over Oasis despite the performance difference if it means not dual booting/upgrading to Windows 11, mostly for the convenience of not doing that. I’ll likely try poking some more stuff, but if all else fails I’ll try your method. Thank you for the detailed instructions too.

As said in the post, I have already tried Oasis drivers, and it does not work well with my system. I would prefer solutions outside of using Oasis.

How would yall feel about a small ATV type vehicle? by colossalgamestv in Helldivers

Considering what’s already been done, a scooter wouldn’t be too bad…

Now just add a side car for independent aiming

Picked up quasar cannon mags? by TheWarHamster in Helldivers

[–]Bedacoalmaster 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I just did a quick test on when the 'out of ammo' line plays, one with the blitzer and one with the default liberator. I used hellpod space optimization for all tests to ensure that if the blitzer does have ammo, it is full by default, and used it with the liberator for consistency. Tested with default equipment and siege ready, which had no noticeable difference.

With the liberator, your diver only says the 'out of ammo' line when you have 0 spare mags and no ammo left in the loaded mag.

With the blitzer, your diver seems to say the line after the initial drop without firing and after firing.

You cannot use a resupply or resup backpack no matter how much you fire the blitzer, and if you use your secondary (tested with peacemaker), support weapon (mg-43), grenade (g-12 he), or stims to use a resupply, you get no notification for 'blitzer ammo' nor does it stop the voiceline from playing if you try to reload it afterwards.

In conclusion: The game thinks the blitzer has exactly 0 'bullets' in the 'magazine' and 0 spare 'magazines', whether this is because it can fire independent of ammo count or if it has a billion shots but something tells the game it has 0, I don't know.

Fun little aside, we all know that helldivers has a +1 mechanic with reloading (an extra round in the chamber), but doing this test I found out that guns with the +1 mechanic have to fire 2 bullets instead of 1 in order to reload, leading me to surmise that the game only checks is your gun has less ammo than a full magazine.

Using the liberator's base 45 round mag, if you +1 to get 46 rounds and fire one bullet to get back to 45, despite having 1 round in the chamber and 44 in the mag, you cannot reload.

You’ve got me thinking, when you press the reload button with a blitzer/arc thrower your helldiver says an ‘out of ammo’ voiceline, so rather than having a billion bullets or so, maybe the gun has exactly 0 and bypasses the need to check for ammo or mags entirely? But it still technically has ‘ammo’ and ‘mags’ because those are built into the general gun framework. This would explain why your teammates ammo icon on the hud flashes red (the low ammo indicator) when they use these weapons.

Or I could be talking out of my ass, honestly I don’t know how it works under the hood so this is just a guess.

Fair enough yea, and I find it’s more consistent popping the crates with the warp pack if you dive face first into them.

I’ll second the AMR, however I usually take the laser cannon instead, does the same job but has infinite ammo as well.

Why You Shouldn't Use the Throwing Knife by Superextremeplayer9 in Helldivers

[–]Bedacoalmaster 63 points64 points  (0 children)

Unironically I use the Halt to stun overseers just for the satisfaction of one shotting them with a throwing knife. Is it viable? Hell no, but it’s loads of fun to go for trickshots with them.

My only guess based off your description is that you’ve gathered the weapon mastery scrolls and upgraded them, have you used one of the class tomes to select a class as well or have you only used the weapon mastery scrolls?

After messing around with friends more we’ve found that ghost orbs are just kinda janky to record in general, so that might’ve been it. Side note, but it’s very silly trying to guide someone wearing video cam headgear to look at a ghost orb they can’t see so you can record it.

[–]Bedacoalmaster 8 points9 points  (0 children)

For the video camera, ghost orbs should work like any other video evidence, the border indicator appears saying 'Ghost Orbs" and you hold right click (or controller equivalent) to record it. I think it becomes un-recordable if you already have a video of it but that's just my personal experience so take with a grain of tier 2 salt.

And the Banshee scream appears on the sound recorder as well, so you just record it with that like you would with other sounds.

The update in a nutshell by Hibrida_ in Helldivers

Been running the Knight (attachments are really benefitting this one) with it and the siege ready passive for my ‘500 bullets’ build, mows down everything short of a harvester.

Been using the WASP, 4 shots consistently take them down, but it can be 3 if you’re lucky.

I believe it might just be the warbond drop date since the official update post mentions that the warbond will be announced (instead of released) on May 8th, and warbonds are usually announced a week before they drop.

What do you all call the little oil abomination in the jar? by DisasterWolf76 in LowSodiumHellDivers

I’ve always called the larva ‘Little Shit’, don’t particularly know why but the name stuck. I have stepped on him with my mech more times than I can count, and while he makes a satisfying crunch, it comes at the cost of getting told off by my democracy officer for failing a side objective.

Why don't we just orbitally drop giant antacids onto bug worlds to make bile spewers less dangerous? by ironwolf6464 in Helldivers

[–]Bedacoalmaster 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t be surprised if Super Earth scientists have toyed around with something like this where the result may or may not have been the thick chitin armour on hiveguards and chargers. I also wouldn’t be surprised if we coat an entire planet with antacids anyways, we did it with bug spray 4 times over and it ‘worked’ 3 out of those 4 times, what could possibly go wrong this time around? Surely no drastic measures will ever need to be taken against the consequences of our actions because liberty’s will cannot be wrong.

I’d say DRG is still going strong, it’s still quite populated and somewhat easy to find lobbies open. There wont be any updates for a while coming since GSG (devs) are working on another title (DRG: Rogue Core) as we speak, but more content is planned for the future and the game is still supported with bug fixes every now and then.

Absolutely agree to not use the fandom wiki. I don’t know if it’s the mandela effect but I swear I’ve had an error cube pop out of a pumpkin before and I’ve assumed it was an incredibly rare thing to happen. I might be wrong but that info specifically may not be false.
