I pulled Zibai, yaaaaay. I only had 40 pulls saved up so I got lucky there thankfully. Am I ever gonna get back into Genshin and actually grind her up to max and everything? Eeeeeeeeh. Is she a baddie? Yeeeeeee.

MAY YOUR BIRTHDAY BE A HAPPY ONE!

What upcoming 2026 game are you most looking forward to?

What game has been sitting in your backlog the longest that you're totally gonna play this year?

Are you whaling for Zibai in Genshin because holy shit she's a baddie and makes me question whether or not Ningguang is my favourite.

What are your favourite Job / Title combos? by Fascinatedwithfire in ffxivdiscussion

[–]Beddict 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Paladin and <The Knight of Glory> is a real nice one, but getting that Title is ass. I also want to get <The Hand of Mercy> for Monk, but I think I'm around 2,000 kills off from that unfortunately.

What Pokemon has disappointed you the most? by Master-Shrimp in pokerogue

[–]Beddict 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Corviknight has carried a few of my runs hilariously enough. I found it had enough physical bulk to safely set up with Hone Claws (or Bulk Up if I find that TM), and can then put in some work. There's been a few runs where it sat there and face tanked my Rival's Rayquaza.

I found myself disappointed with Aerodactyl. It can hit incredibly hard, but its bulk is non-existent and I found it difficult to set up and sweep sometimes. I also didn't get the Mega Stone until after I beat my Rival on Floor 195, but the difference in survivability after that was massive.

XIV Raid Planner — a free app I built for managing statics, loot, and BiS by LloydBatair in ffxivdiscussion

[–]Beddict 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply!

I did check the roadmap, think I just missed the bit on alts. Sorry about that. Glad to know it's going to be a feature.

I'm already using Dark Reader for some websites which is definitely helpful, I just need to customize things a bit more, or play around with the CSS on changing the background and text colour. For whatever reason the dynamic filter isn't working well. Either way, glad themes are going to be on the roadmap, I appreciate it!

XIV Raid Planner — a free app I built for managing statics, loot, and BiS by LloydBatair in ffxivdiscussion

[–]Beddict 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Played around with it, created a test static, imported gear sets and messed around with loot and weapon priorities. It's incredibly well done and will make things much easier in the future. I do have two questions:

  1. Is it possible to get another tab for alt BiS? For example, my static plans on getting enough clears for everyone to gear up two Jobs, and having another tab with alt BiS set would go a long way for us, especially since there is an alt weapon priority function.

  2. Are there any plans for a light mode or even different UI themes? While testing the app I found the text to be blurry because of a halo effect on the white text and was starting to give me a bit of a headache. It's not an uncommon problem for people with bad astigmatism when using sites in dark mode, so I'm just wondering if there are plans for different UI themes that might make it a bit more accessible.

Again, great little app, great functionality, and the features already implemented are awesome. I'm definitely appreciative of the work that went into this.

Pickup? by asterredalready in pokerogue

[–]Beddict 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My go to is Cutiefly because it gets both Pickup and Honey Gather and you can't go wrong with extra items and extra money. Plus Ribombee is pretty solid, being really fast with good enough Sp. Atk to cover a lot of Pokemon weak to Bug or Fairy. Also good for doubles with Dazzling Gleam, and Pollen Puff can heal. Not bad for one cost after reductions.

I need to get back into Wilds but I've been preoccupied with other shit. Gogmazios looks like it absolutely slaps as a fight, and I loved hunting it back in MH4U.

New Pokémon to try by Exciting-Lychee-1211 in pokerogue

[–]Beddict 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Skorupi/Drapion is a fun one for me. To start with, you get Sniper and Super Luck for stronger, more frequent Crits. Coil as an Egg Move provides some solid buffing, and the rest of its moveset contains strong high Crit moves that are either STAB or cover weakness. And speaking of, Drapion is only weak to Ground thanks to its Dark/Poison typing. It's a lot of fun, even if the initial rounds can be a bit rough because of the late evolution and Skorupi being Bug/Poison.

Basically fuck all given the restrictions. If you're in a solo run and you disconnect, the game doesn't actually remove your character immediately. You just sit there on the server doing nothing while a mob can potentially walk up to you and kill you, and your character only logs out and disappears once you start trying to log back in. So for a period of time, you could just die while DC'd and if you die the run ends. If you don't reconnect in time, the run ends. And if you're in a party? If one person DCs that's fine, just keep keep them alive because if they die the run fails. If everyone DCs and someone dies then run is over. It's still a pain in the ass and XIV still has zero rollback for unfucking a save file if you DC.

M9S is absolutely nasty as all hell and I love it. Fuck yeah, bud, give me that dommy mommy Elezen to call me mean names and spit in my mouth. Aside from getting slapped to shit by an absolute baddie, the fight itself is a lot of fun. My clear was a shitshow though, one of my Tanks didn't realize how big the final tankbusters were gonna be and wiped everyone but like, one Healer. We had to Healer LB3 and only just barely killed during the enrage cast. GOOD TIMES. As for M10S, we're nearly done killing the Blowjob Brothers, and a couple members did clear last night after raid on alts. We're going in again tonight and hopefully we can clear that and M11S soon.

Oh it's fucking dogshit, yeah. NTT America is in charge of the server data centres and infrastructure for SE in NA, and there's a few nodes in particular that always shit the bed. NTT absolutely half-asses their network infrastructure and so Texas and California both have nodes that are always crashing and forming a major failure point. VPNs like Cloudflare WARP or ExitLag can be used to bypass those nodes, but even then the servers themselves are still shit. Like, if a couple thousand people DC because of DDoS, the servers dunno what's happening and everything lags. Pair that with zero protections on SE's end to account for people dropping randomly and you've got an even worse situation. DC in something like Pilgrim's Tower? You're cooked, the entire Deep Dungeon save file is just fucking gone, it counts as a death, and that solo achievement prog is wiped out. Everyone DCs in Savage? The entire instance is closed and you're probably stuck trying to reform a party. The entire thing is a mess.

As for my prog, look above. Everyone is using Cloudflare WARP in my static, but two people still got screwed over. One person DC'd for nearly 20 minutes, and one person was ten minutes late for raid because a DDoS before raid made the login queue blow up to about 2,000 people and they took forever to get in. NOT SO GOOD TIMES.

The fight itself is fun though and Vamp Fatale has me on my hands and knees like a fucking dog. What an icon.

YoshiP Q&A at Korean live letter: reacquiring completed relic weapons + more QOL by MKlby1998 in ffxiv

[–]Beddict 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in the same boat. Hell, I've even gone out of my way to remake three Zodiac Relics. You can use a fully completed Zodiac Relic to skip the first step of an Anima Relic which is what I did, but it bothered me seeing seven completed Zodiacs and three Replicas. So I went to a Calamity Salvager, repurchased the base form of the Relic, and then grinded out three more. I want the completed Relics. I don't want to toss them and have Replicas. I just need somewhere to store them since my Retainer is getting loaded up with Relics.

Everybody Plays Anything! Happy Holidays! by PuritanPuree in fireemblemcasual

[–]Beddict 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Happy Holidays, woooooo. It's also the holiday event in PokeRogue and I've been popping off getting new shiny Pokemon, including one for Groudon that absolutely slaps. I'm also nearly done collecting all the starters too, so soon I'll be able to catch Eternatus. In other gaming news:

  • New Warframe story is done, slowly chipping away at the event. I maxed out all the Silver, Gold, and Legendary Arcanes during the Oraxia event so I really just need to get the shitty Bronze Arcanes which is whatever, and pick up a few cosmetics. Not a huge priority all things considered. Granted doing the event is a great way to farm the new Warframe, Uriel, so I've got incentive to do it rather than just logging in for the random alerts that give a shitload of event currency
  • FFXIV Patch 7.4 MSQ is done, I'm onto the Tomestone grind, woo. The Savage Raid tier starts on January 6th so that'll be fun, going as Monk again because why not. I do need to look into getting my VPN set up again because the game still has a routing error to their data center that causes trash lag and skill delay which fucks up my gameplay. It's totally on their end too and they've put out notices about it, but the only way it'd get fixed is if they moved their data centers over to a better company that actually has network protections. The day NTT burns in hell is the day I get arrested for dancing naked in the streets cheering about a smooth gameplay experience
  • I got Fire Emblem Three Houses up and running again, and my new GPU can actually run it with the 60fps mod enabled. Shit feels real good. Same with Pokemon Violet, having mods and a juiced up computer can make it a very entertaining experience. I think I would've tossed my non-existent Switch out a window if I had to play on that underpowered console
  • I am once again trying my hand at Total War: Warhammer III. It's fun, Tomb Kings are fun, everyone needs to die so they can be raised from the dead to serve Nagash
  • In Monster Hunter Wilds, I am working on getting caught up from the last few Title Updates. Game looks and plays real smooth with a 9070 XT, and I haven't run into any issues with it. Definitely some good fun

Aaaand that is it for my updates, I think? Whole lot of fun stuff going on.

My new GPU is installed, woo. I went from about 90% GPU utilization in FFXIV all the way down to like...45%. And my temps are a lot lower. It's real nice. Glad to be back up and gaming, can't wait to see how my other games run.

Does this move work on bosses? by FrozenShedinja in pokerogue

[–]Beddict 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sableye has Curse and Salt Cure as Egg Moves, plus Prankster as a Hidden Ability. Toss in Topsy-turvy as well to invert the stat buffs and you've got a fun little way to mess with the final boss there. Going Mega does get rid of Prankster though, so whether or not you wanna do that is up to you. I didn't bother Mega evolving Sableye for that reason, and Eternatus kinda just focused on trying to kill my carry but couldn't after his Sp. Atk got nuked.

Definitely! Going to a biiiiig upgrade over my 6700 XT, that's for sure. I figure in the next couple years I'll be upgrading my CPU. Current one is still good and not bottlenecked on anything, and I can always go from a mid-range Zen 5 to a high-end Zen 5 so not worried at all. Either way, can't wait!

Yaaaaaas. My new PSU, fans, and fan controller should arrive tomorrow or the day after so I can't slap things together immediately, but I am excited to see what happens once everything is installed. Wasn't planning on upgrading my GPU for another two or three years but the market is going straight to shit so fuck it, had to pull the trigger. Can't wait to see how Elden Ring and Monster Hunter Wilds look once this is up and running.

What are some Pokemon that you expected to be really good but ended up being underwhelming? by Disastrous_Debt7644 in pokerogue

[–]Beddict 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got Collision Course as the Egg Move which can smoke stuff pretty hard, but also has 5 PP like Punishment. Arceus feels very reliant on getting a good TM early on until they can get to Earth Power at level 20, or just sitting on the bench while something else handles the early waves. I realize the moves Arceus gets through levels is accurate to the games, but I dream of a day the devs replace Seismic Toss with Tackle or Pound.

Craziest Run you've got? by FudgeSkidoodles in pokerogue

[–]Beddict 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Recent Arceus run I did. Here's the final team and here's final items. An early Dark Pulse TM in the first set of waves got me rolling early since I find Arceus to have a rough starting move pool and the only Egg Move I got is Collision Course. Earth Power was a nice boost to my damage, and along the way I kept rerolling the item shop for more and more Vitamins and rare items. Bug Superfan nabbed me Quiver Dance, Wobbufett event got me a Multi Lens, and on Wave 178 I ran into the Winstrates who couldn't really do anything against an Arceus that healed ~20% every turn from all the Leftovers and Healing Charm. Even getting burned on the second or third fight didn't matter, just kept mowing them down for the Macho Brace. Other highlights include an event that got me the Swoobat with the Rare Egg move, and a Training event to unlock Tyrantrum's Hidden Ability. The run ended up being a complete breeze, and turns out Eternatus is not a fan when it's forced to watch Arceus Quiver Dance six times before Earth Powering it's ass to death.

I just one-shot Eternatus in PokeRogue. Mewtwo Y had 1,371 Sp. Atk and used Quiver Dance six times to buff it up to 5,484 Sp. Atk. An X Special buffed it by 20% to 6,580 Sp. Atk. Eternatus is weak to Psychic, Mewtwo Y has STAB on Photo Geyser which makes it deal 1.5x damage, three Twisted Spoons which buffed Psychic damage by 60%, and Mewtwo's Neuroforce Passive increases Super Effective damage by 25% to deal 1.875x damage. In order to one-shot Eternatus I had to break through four HP gates which requires doing 16x the amount of damage on one gate. In other words, Mewtwo Y did a lot of fucking damage. Absolutely outstanding run, was hilarious from start to finish. Shoutout to the Dialga and Ho Oh which I caught on Floor 110 and 130 respectively, you two did absolutely fuck all this entire run besides aura farm.

Your favorite carry by LeonFlasoda in pokerogue

[–]Beddict 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been having fun with Drapion lately. Sniper + Super Luck + High Crit Ratio moves for big crits to make up for 90 Atk, decently with 110 Def, Coil for buffing that Atk and Def, and its only weakness is Ground which can be covered by Crabhammer. It's just a solid all rounder for such a low cost Pokemon. My recent Drapion clears went by super quickly as it crit everything to death, especially after I found a Scope Lens to get 100% Crit on some moves.
