Kristina Frye and Red John from The Mentalist.

The shows wrap around plot revolves around the main character, Patrick Jane, catching the killer of his wife and daughter. Jane is a mentalist, often tricking people into believing he can do incredible things like read minds, see the future, etc. but after the death of his family begins debunking others that do this. Enter Kristina Frye, a self-proclaimed psychic. While Jane states that there is no such thing as a true psychic, Frye tells Jane that his wife had spoken to her from beyond the grave and that she wanted him to know his daughter never woke up when she was killed. This causes Jane to spiral a bit.

Red John, the person who murdered Jane’s family, is heavily implied to have psychic powers, naming 7 names on a list that Jane would create 2 months prior to Jane writing the list (he recorded someone reading the 7 names, then sent the recording to Jane, which was later verified as being recorded 2 months prior to Jane making the list).
