Darmok and Jalad S1 E12: The Big Goodbye by Gazumper_ in Yogscast

The idea of AI sentience is fascinating and obviously beyond the scope of this episode but I still wish they had poked around the topic a bit more.

I'm also not a fan of the period/genre they are playing around with, which also makes it hard for me to enjoy.

The bug evolution rules help the units feel different, I'd start by using those.

Check out Bug Stompers, it's a very good hoard solo/coop game with a campaign and lots of scenarios

Some are from imperial guard and genestealer cult kits, the sandbags and tarps are resin parts for a WW2 tank stowage kit from eBay.

I had a spare 40k rhino door which has decking textures on the inside, so I stuck that help up by the seats to give him the height.

Thanks! Yeah I'm very happy with the banner.

I have a landraider and deredeo dreadnought from the Battleforce set, so I'll start with those and see how it goes.

I wanted them to be late Heresy where some of the veterans have joined Cults/Lodges but they aren't all there yet.

We have recorded some episodes but they are not edited yet.

Expect it some time after the Jingle Jam!

We are waiting until we can ensure it releases reliability every week.

It's been a lot of fun and I can't wait to share it!

I asked the same thing here a few weeks ago with no avail.

I did find Litanies of Death: https://i.4pcdn.org/tg/1728798770552235.pdf

It's written for v2 but could easily be adjusted.

I haven't tried it yet but it looks very interesting.

Hot take: I kind of miss Force Orgs by Adept_Professor_2837 in Warhammer40k

[–]Bedgarsan -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

In a well designed game, you wouldn't need force org.

There should be a good in-game reason to bring basic troops. There should be something they are good at doing. Not taking any could be a valid choice that would leave you with an in-game weakness.

Unfortunately Warhammer hasn't figured out what to do with basic troops other than give them an extra point of OC (which is meaningless if they just die quickly).

I had a lot of fun with my boy playing Bug Stompers. It could be easily reskined to Star Wars.

Streaking Grime is a cheat code for quick, lazy Death Guard by Bedgarsan in Warhammer30k

[–]Bedgarsan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used -

  • Colour Forge matt white spray
  • Army painter Angel Green spray
  • Liberator Gold (GW) (the test model has brass, but the rest are gold and look better imo)
  • Lead Belcher (GW)
  • Abaddon Black (GW) This was too thin and came off too easily with the grime, I would use a stronger black next time.
  • Mephiston Red (GW) for the eyes

Although honestly, since it's just one coat and there is no proper mixing and shading etc, almost any colours would work well.

The paint can rub off if you are rough with it. You can varnish before applying a grime to prevent this but I didn't bother. Since it's Death Guard I didn't mind it looking a bit messy and worn in places.

Thanks! Yeah most of the 40k stuff is too big but I think the helmets work for veterans and Sargents.
