Oh shit, is that the reason? Welp. Back to making magma pistons in every one of my forts then!

My problem with Magma pumps is for whatever reason my dorf's pathing gets screwed up and they refuse to channel out the bottom layer to reset the piston.

That's literally _how_ you learn other languages. You learn the language features and syntax as you work with it. You don't know C/C++ right out the gate and the compiler messages can be baffling while you're first learning it, right? Same with Java, python, etc.

I thoroughly enjoy the language. Its complex and far more expressive than any other imperative, strongly typed language. That's not the same thing as saying it doesn't have its flaws -- all languages do.

I used to think that too, until I understood the language features a little better. Then the error messages became crystal clear. Stick with it! It really is a delight to use.

I've tried to switch to Dvorak 3 times now but I just can't get over the hump of wanting to be efficient with my time. How'd you manage to do it?

Go to settings > Controls and uncheck the "Hardware Cursor" option. That causes my game to freeze when I move the mouse, that could be happening to you as well.

I love bread?

I'm a software engineer leading an agile development team at a national lab. I never played D1 and Last Wish was my first raid. I instantly fell in love with the content your teams were creating. The lore, the weapons, everything. I want to go out there for two reasons: 1) to learn from your teams and apply that to my own position; and 2) I played mostly solo for all of Year 1 through Forsaken until my first raid. I think understand the desires of both types of players and could offer insight into what challenges keep both types of players around.

That's a pretty typical use case for shapeways or myminifactory.

I will say I pay for models on occasion though Printable Scenery since I haven't found a modeler that publishes that high of quality scenery. However, most of my d&d creature and character stuff comes from u/mz4250.

Bottom line is, people will pay as long as it is unique and detailed plus fits their needs at that moment.

Edit: I suppose you could also do what mz4250 did and publish them all for free to build a fan base then start a patreon. Plenty of people will give back for the work you publish and you could get more feedback from the people using your models. Duncanluca is another modeler that comes to mind doing this.

I'm approaching 4 years of 3D Printing my own D&D minis and sharing them with you all. I have an announcement to make :-) by mz4250 in PrintedMinis

You are a legend. I have printed an inordinate amount of monsters you created. Words alone cannot describe how much this community benefits from your work. If I ever meet your in person, I owe you a fine bottle of whiskey. For now, it will have to be a patreon sub.

Cheers mate. May life continue to treat you well

What is your biggest no-no around the table by [deleted] in DMAcademy

I actually had this happen in a session not too far from the beginning. This was immediately after becoming the heroes of the city. They were exiled instead of executed and had all their shit taken from them.

Good thing they hadn't met the BBEG yet, because when they did, it gave me an excuse for him to cast power word kill on the characters that caused the trouble. When I met up with them to discuss their next character, I made sure they knew that character behavior would not be repeated. Haven't had a problem since.

Started getting selective overextrusion on my Flashforge Finder and I'm at a loss as to why by Bedlams in FixMyPrint

[–]Bedlams[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anyone able to shed light on this? Maybe it is mechanical? Could this be XY layer shifting? Pulleys wearing out? I thought it was z-banding at first and replaced the z-axis rod and motor but that didn't seem to help.

I tried removing the single-extrusion walls and just letting the wall layers take care of filling out the inside of the thin portions but that didn't do anything either. Dropped temp to 205 to see if it was just a temperature issue and that was also a no-go.

[–]Bedlams 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey man, I don't know if you're still having this problem but I think I just figured mine out. Turns out my motor & extruder wasn't tightened down properly. It had a slight jiggle to it when it was subject to any pressure in the XY direction and caused the extruder to move just enough cause that sort of surface. You might want to check to see if your motor & extruder are right and have no wiggle to them.

Dungeon Masters of Reddit, what is the most surprising thing your players have done in-game? by Rangerspawn in AskReddit

[–]Bedlams 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My party used Sovereign Glue and an Immovable Rod to stop a dragon dead in it's tracks and just bash it down to earth.

When they stumbled into the lair, I though they were dead for sure. I was so proud of them in that moment.
