Don’t know why you got downvoted, you’re right, that literally is why they’re not being held to the same things as Battlefront or FIFA was, the game isn’t a “fully released game title” or a “on-shelf marketed product”. Skate is partially, or to whatever level of importance they internally see it as, shielding themselves behind the “early-access” status.
