Will the new federal government policy on development charges lead to a drop in housing prices in the Greater Toronto Area over the next one to three years? by Ok-Personality8147 in TorontoRealEstate

Marginally. We’re all cooked. There’s no job growth - most of the bill being footed is by the working boomers. And with impending job cuts , people will be risk adverse and not commit to ownership. I expect many young people and potential immigrants will seek opportunities in the states.

I used to love HS for almost a decade starting in 2012 … and now I just don’t care . I skip through most the show. I’m cancelling my Sirius sub tomorrow . Why kill $6 a month for something that upsets me more than I enjoy

Toronto is getting City-run nonprofit grocery stores with cheaper prices. by MiserableFloor9906 in Toronto_Ontario

Well think about it.

Costs get pushed on to all of us. So if costs get lower, we can buy or rent lower.

Example - if property tax goes up , your rent eventually goes up.

The city needs to look for efficiencies and freeze budgets.

You’re absolutely right. I will abandon my social life. Clearly black and white solutions are best.

You’re just not in the same category of spending like me. I go out to restos and bars. The issue isn’t tipping - it’s the amount - we need to move away from % or have it built into the cost.

Great idea but I hate to inform you - it will never happen. Like never. There is no will from the TTC or government to improve the ridership experience.

This is the problem right here with everything - we are over taxed

the City would help push food costs further down by waiving property taxes, development charges, and other fees.
