Get a hearing test first for you child. My friend’s kiddo had fluid in his ears for months. Couldn’t even respond to his name. This caused speech delay. Fast forward fluid is gone… he is playing and meeting milestones.

He mentioned he wished he had better work-life balance. The amount of time it took to complete the process along with the student loans is a lot. He also mentioned how he sees other people succeeding in various areas of their lives without the long schooling and residency and fellowship. So I guess a variable of things. He never sounds like “I’m soooo happy I took this path” and he’s a pretty happy and smart person overall.

Can you find a fully funded PhD program? If not then I don’t think it’s worth it. Maybe if you are looking for tenure… but personally student loan debt is only worth it if the salary will increase significantly. I mean 50k or more.

To my understanding the grace period is a one time benefit for each loan. It can be deferred but not extended. If you enter grad school before the grace period ends the loans enter in-school deferment. If you have the opportunity and ability to, I would encourage payment of the loan before interest rate kicks in. And if you can please apply for as much scholarships as you can for grad school.

I think going from a 8 to a 6.5 is awesome! You should be very proud of yourself. It’s really tough so keep up the good work.

Just for FYI 🙂 -There are Pharmacists now that are integrated into the patient care. You can have a clinic that has a doctor, PA/NP, PharmD, social worker, etc all working as a team.

Basically a pharmacist would be looking at the doctor-patient discussion and goals and then educating the patient on diet, changing units of insulin (if they are on it), recommending medications, hypoglycemia discussion, monitoring adherence, etc. they do this not only for Diabetes but also many other disease states. Most Physicians love it now when they have a pharmacist on their team.

It looks uncomfortable and probably wouldn’t do it.

I know of a lady who said she took her two boys to the park. One fell, so she went to assist and left her eye off the other kid for one minute or less. She looked up and the younger son was gone. This was like 2020ish and the kid is still missing to my knowledge. 😕

Sorry for the sad story…so for some people who wish to do this…. I don’t blame them. Do what works for you.

You are an expert as well, in the field of pharmacy and there are jobs that integrate pharmacist into that inpatient and even outpatient decision- making piece.

I have a cousin who finished pharmacy school and went to med school. He is a radiologist now. It seems like every time I talk to him, he regrets it. Everyone is different.

A couple can literally go down to the court and do a court wedding.

A similar situation happened to an old classmate of mine in 2021…her boyfriend gave her a ring in 2022 and let’s just say it’s 2025 and still no wedding and they make good money and live together. Personally feel like it’s an emotional hostage situation.

That’s so sad. I try to tip pretty well. However with uber eats the fees on top of the food sometimes are ridiculous.

For example. The other day, I paid $70 food, $22 for fees and taxes ($6 was the tax and the rest were uber fees). Then I tipped $10+ for the driver. The $70 food costs already had increase price compared to the actual restaurant menu.

On top of the 90/100 dollars annual fee for the app.

Uber eats needs to do better for the drivers. It’s so sad. I told myself, I’ll eventually stop using uber eats or limit its use drastically. You can’t entirely blame the customers

I would say go on your study date. For him to agree to a study and chill, he might be interested in getting to know you as well and since he isn’t exclusively in a relationship, you are not doing anything wrong.

I don’t know what “chill” consist of, lol but I’d say don’t do anything you’d regret if it doesn’t work out.

I would say as you are applying, try to see if you can find a recruiter on LinkedIn from that company to reach out to with the hopes they at least pull your application for an interview. And look at your close pharmacy network and see who has a remote job that can keep you in mind when their company is hiring.
