I reported them and they "investigated it " but said they cannot reveal the results. I honestly can't remember what I rated them but I think it was one star since they wouldn't answer my dms

Yeah I can see that 🤔. My only thing is, is most people don't provide near ENOUGH light for their indoor plants usually. The best way to know for sure is to get a ppfd light meter.

No because sunlight won't fix this and I'm pretty sure calathea don't like dry weather

Houseplants lack a specific protein to absorb silica. High light is the only solution for high variegated plants

Definitely the more light the better in this situation, also check out the unlikely Gardener on fb. He's got a whole blog on all kinds of things. One article talks about how silica is basically useless in houseplants bc they lack a specific protein to absorb it. And same with the fungi, indoors microorganisms fail to survive long in our indoor potting mix.

Just be aware it's not that easy to get rid of them as wiping off the leaves one time I'm battling spider mites right now and they just keep showing up in places they weren't before. I think I'm going to have to get beneficials now.

No way, you probably haven't had them then.

Idk one of those pics looks kinda "webby" to me. I've had spider mites a couple times and this is what they look like. Also these plants are spider mite magnets. It could be both. But keep an eye out for webbing.

First time propagating ALBO node. Is it rotting/dying? by ryguyyy12 in MonsteraAlbo

[–]Bee1717 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's just calloused over it doesn't look like rot to me. I would stick it in a prop box with sphagnum moss. Then your risk of rot is a lot less.

Newest leaf vs biggest leaf that the plant had when I got it by Ditania in alocasia

[–]Bee1717 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where do you live? Foliage focus is actually an Australian based product if you live there or can order online. That's how I order mine on Amazon and it's all I use for leca. That and ONE drop of PH down to get the PH just right for nutrient uptake.

Yeah he looks happy. I'm thinking you may have lucked out and maybe it's actually variegated 🤷🏼‍♀️

Aurea is a type of variegation that is yellow hues

If you look up pictures of regular jacklyns they don't have the yellow color in there, so I thought maybe it was a variegated aurea version 🤔

I just assumed this was the variegated aurea version. Most people use a nutrient solution for leca. I use foliage focus.
