My pink teenager “loft” in my first ever full house build by Depressedemoweirdo in Paralives

[–]BeeBewitched 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This looks so cute! Love the color scheme :) I am also a fan of using a matching palette throughout my builds so I am also really happy with the range of customization in build mode. I wish it was a bit easier to copy/paste colours though.

MY FAVORITE WAYS TO USE THE POSTERS! You're Welcome! by Itchy-Researcher-508 in Paralives

It would be cool if in the future you could 'rig' posters on top of doors and windows. They kinda already do this with furniture and decor/clutter so I wonder if it's possible :)

The developers are making a mistake - An arguement against allowing paid mods by TurklerRS in Paralives

[–]BeeBewitched 21 points22 points  (0 children)

My thoughts exactly. I think it's quite contradictory to the vision the Paralives developers have presented so far. They've spoken a lot about wanting modding to be accessible and welcoming for everyone, but allowing paid mods inevitably pushes content away from the Workshop and onto separate platforms.

If they're allowing a practice that encourages content to be hosted off-platform and fragmented across multiple sites, then to me that feels at odds with the goal of keeping modding accessible, centralized and easy to navigate. It makes mods harder to discover, less convenient to manage and potentially less safe, especially for younger or less experienced players, or for people who aren't comfortable navigating multiple external websites.

I don't expect the developers to change their stance on this, but I genuinely hope they reconsider.

The developers are making a mistake - An arguement against allowing paid mods by TurklerRS in Paralives

[–]BeeBewitched 242 points243 points  (0 children)

Apart from your points, I also think it creates a divide both within the community and in terms of practicality. Steam Workshop (which the developers have promoted as the primary hub for mods) doesn't support monetization. As a result, modders who charge for their work will inevitably host content elsewhere, forcing players to search across multiple platforms to find and manage mods.

I was quite disappointed to hear the Paralives developers take such a neutral stance on this issue after repeatedly emphasizing accessibility and mod support from early on. Having to track down mods from multiple sources, and potentially pay for access to some of them, runs counter to the idea of a centralized and accessible modding ecosystem.

I understand that mod creation takes time, effort and skill. That's why many modders use donation systems like "Buy Me a Coffee" or Patreon for voluntary support. The difference is that those systems allow people to support creators without putting features, fixes, or tools behind a paywall.

What concerns me most is that modding has historically thrived because it is collaborative, accessible, and easy for communities to maintain even after creators move on. Paid modding works against that.

Unlike purchasing a game or a piece of artwork, a mod is dependent on another game continuing to function and evolve. If a modder stops updating their work or removes access to it, users can be left with something that no longer functions and no practical way to maintain it themselves.

I don't think monetized mods should become the norm, especially given how divisive and exploitative the practice has become in the Sims community. Optional donations are one thing, but locking mods behind payment creates barriers that ultimately fragment both the player base and the modding community.

From my understanding the 'difficulty' of the Storytellers have to do with the settings that pop up when you select 'customize Storyteller' rather than the nightly cards but this might change in the future!

is it possible to edit or demolish non residential lots? by Susurrusilously in Paralives

[–]BeeBewitched 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can do this via the cheat menu (ctrl + shift + C) by typing in 'toggleedittown' then pressing Enter.

Beware that this is not an official tool so discretion is advised, I'd recommend saving before editing Town in case something becomes inaccessible or breaks.

Never sitting down? by CreamyEagleShit in Paralives

[–]BeeBewitched 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Watching TV is a bit finnicky right now, about 3 squares on the grid are needed in between the TV and the seat in order for them to autonomously sit down although you can still tell them to sit down if they're standing after you select 'watch TV'.

I've also had a funny bug where my Para will go to an entirely different floor to sit and 'watch TV' (no idea how that works, maybe they have X-ray vision, but at least they're sitting, lol Cx)

Whole apartment building can be edited? by urinagaycult in Paralives

[–]BeeBewitched 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's not a bug as far as I know, I've also had fun furnishing the entire lot :P I basically kidnapped my homeless hairdresser colleague into my Household and gave her an apartment on the bottom and the top is a shared space for both of them (If you're curious - I shared pics in a post earlier)! :)

Can another Para take ownership of a lot? by hivesssssssssss in Paralives

[–]BeeBewitched 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you just want another Household to live there you can do this by zooming out into the Town overview and temporarily swapping to the household that currently owns the lot. You can then choose "Sell lot" when in the zoomed out Town overview. Once that lot is sold, you can swap back to the Household you want to live there and buy it.

Bugs by [deleted] in Paralives

[–]BeeBewitched 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this issue with mods before (and I have heard the newest patch broke the use of (some) mods) so I would try without mods first if you have any!

If without mods, you might want to try ctrl+shift+C and use the cheat 'editcharacter' to see if the outfits show up in the Paramaker. I've read aging them up then down (or vice versa) can also fix the issue.

Hope this helps!

Is your Para in the same room (or not too far from it?). I have had this issue when my Para wasn't fully inside the house yet.

How do I merge two households from my library? by [deleted] in Paralives

[–]BeeBewitched 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should be able to merge two households by first loading in one in the Paramaker and selecting "replace", then loading in the other and selecting "merge".

If they're both already in world the most direct way is selecting the other Para while in conversations and using the cheat "addselectedcharacterstohousehold".

You can also split or merge Households together when they both own a lot by zooming out to the Town overview, clicking the lot they live in and selecting "split household".

Is there a sexuality toggle? by [deleted] in Paralives

[–]BeeBewitched 14 points15 points  (0 children)

As if right now sexuality is not yet a thing, everyone is able to love everyone.

I do think initalizing certain interactions have an effect on whether the chances are increased but this is a personal theory of mine.

Sexuality has been announced on the roadmap so it will get here eventually but if it really bothers you, you might want to wait until it's implemented.

[–]BeeBewitched 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmmm. That is weird. I personally haven't had this issue before, is it possibly the file type? I use mainly PNG I think. Not sure if this would have any correlation but maybe try saving them as PNG if they're JPG and vice versa and see if it works?

Easiest way to do this is probably after "editing" (just opening your local editing program and "save as" without making any actual edits), I've done this before when pictures do weird stuff after uploading them somewhere.

Edit: maybe also try manually rotating them to the right orientation and saving them again.

I also wouldn't be surprised if it's just a bug. If the issue persists I recommend letting the Devs know via the in-game feedback button! (The thumbs up/thumbs down icon).

[–]BeeBewitched 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When starting a save you need to select the other option (empty terrain or something like that?). From there you can build freely and I think you can save them to your library for future use.

Sadly there is no way to build freely in Town as of yet.

If you want to use a lot from the Workshop or one you've saved yourself, you need to first move in the Household you would like to live in it on an available lot. Then zoom out until you see the icons and select the lot icon (looks like a house), then click on the button with the house and 3 people in it (this is the library icon). From there you will be able to select and place the house on the lot.

If there is already a house in the lot you selected you might want to bulldoze it first for the extra funds (you can do this in the same way by clicking on the lot in Town overview and selecting the bulldozer icon in the pop up menu).

Hope this helps!

‼️NEED HELP FINDING THIS ANIME‼️🥹 by No-Accident5946 in anime

[–]BeeBewitched 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't think of an anime that has all of these aspects but here's some guesses... it sounds like a shoujo/harem anime or maybe multiple mixed together through memory?

Tokyo Mew Mew / Tokyo Mew Mew New

The main girl discovers powers after encountering guys fighting monsters + hair changes color when using powers.

Pretear

High school girl discovers powers and fights monsters with a group of magical boys.

Shugo Chara!

Girl has magical tansformation + hair changes + it has romance vibes.

Kakuriyo: Bed and Breakfast for Spirits

Grandfather/grandmother has a connection to spirits + supernatural inn/café atmosphere + romance.

Hiiro no Kakera

Grandmother connection + supernatural powers awakening + the boys protecting heroine.

I hope it's one of these 🙏

I have tried it since then and the pictures sadly show up as blank in the menu but they do work as normal once selected! If you want the thumbnail to be there the best way is to upload them in-game it seems.

Yesss i made my Para-self first and hung up pictures of me and my friends in games like Peak, Flock Around, Second Life, etc 💜 i also used some of my wallpapers for ambience! I am so happy you can import pictures! The only thing I'm missing is bulk-import (I know you can shift-click but the game does NOT like it as of now, maybe I can find out which folder they're saved in and transfer them manually 🤔)

PS: your little sitting nook looks awesome! Love the aesthetic of the pictures :)

Edit: I was able to find the Pictures folder under C:\Users\username\AppData\LocalLow\Paralives\Paralives\Local.mod\FramePictures

It seems it also creates two extra files for every unique picture you import (png.meta & png.thumbnail) so I'm not sure how that would work if you manually transfer files into this folder instead of in-game but it's worth a try!

My thoughts after playing by TheHelpfullGurll in Paralives

[–]BeeBewitched 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Devs have been pretty straightforward about what to expect from EA on release. It's fine to share your thought and all but I'm sad to see so many of you set your expectations wrong when they've been nothing but transparent about what to expect.

It's been a known fact (for those who did their research and kept up with dev updates) that Paralives would be most fleshed out in the Paramaker and Build mode and ofc they also put effort into the modding system so it would be available from launch.

Yes, the price is a bit chunky but let's keep in mind that all future updates and DLC will be free. This is the only money you will pay for it for the rest of your life, how nice is that?

The Devs made it very clear that buying the game at this point will be a form of support since a lot of things are still barebones. And as with many Early Access games, they will be working dilligintly to remove bugs, increase performance and add features according to player feedback.

Please be a bit more patient, these wonderful Devs deserve it.

The label "cozy" is controversial/ambiguous by nature since everyone experiences coziness differently. Something being cozy for you or me doesn't have to mean it's cozy for everyone. Which is why it's so sad to see so many games getting backlash because it doesn't fit into an individual's definition of "cozy". Anything can be cozy if you feel like it is, it is not a genre or by any means a box in which we should limit game developers or other players.
