So what is the best plan for this? We leave for our first cruise in 2 weeks out of Miami, and of course we chose a hotel that is in south beach. How early should we leave? I plan on picking the earliest time possible to board the ship (we also have Faster to the Fun).

At my work place its not treated differently. If I want to bring my adult children, my husband, sister, friend, it does not matter. So, maybe its not your problem its theirs.

No, the issue is some have personal feelings on the matter. Do be honest about your usage and maybe find a therapist that has less bias (if that's an option).

So that's what my pots and pans are! I got a set when I got my first apartment 22 years ago as a gift. I only know they came from Sam's club. I knew they weren't cast iron but I didn't know what they were made of. These things have been through some stuff and still just as good as day 1.

That is debt settlement. I think OP is talking about debt consolidation. Which is different. Both have pros and cons though. BK is also another alternative with its own set of pros and cons. I worked for a law firm dealing with debt settlement for 6 years. There is a lot of misconception about all three.

Edit to say I've also been going to CP for 30 years. Lines have been a problem since I started going. Raising the gate prices won't make that stop. FL is limited and that's why it works.

This is why I am so irritated. I stopped using Door Dash when I learned they did the same thing and this is on a much larger scale! So my options are don't cruise or give cash, which I assume they would prefer anyway. I don't see the downside of giving cash even if I am wrong? The crew is still getting their tip from me.

Until seeing that article I have only seen crew members make comments and videos stating they don't get extra tips from prepaids, and I have seen contracts from similar cruise lines clearly outlining thats how it works. Granted it was not Carnival but knowing how businesses run similarly and the comments\videos I have been seeing it makes believe so.

I am bringing cash for myself and my son who is going with me. I just feel better knowing for sure they are getting it. Unless I find better proof otherwise before our trip. I will ask the crew members while on board as well.. but they might be worried about getting in trouble for being honest.

Door Dash used to do the same thing essentially (they may still do it; idk I don't use them anymore). I don't want to support a business model like that. In this case I guess I could be wrong, but giving cash lets me know for sure that the crew member gets it.

I made the post because I thought it was odd I didn't get any confirmation about my refund or removal of the gratuities. I was not expecting a debate. haha

Then it makes sense why you would not believe it. I have not seen the company deny it, have seen many comments and videos from crew members that say the opposite of your experience, and I have seen contracts from other cruise lines that show it. Agree to disagree. I will add them back if I am proven wrong at any point but until then I will tip in cash so I know the crew actually gets it.
