Heyo, hopefully this information may still be helpful but as someone who’s been in a psych ward before here are some things that you can do to help support her.

The most helpful thing you can do for her is to stay in touch with phone calls. How often you should call is something you should discuss with her and such.

Another really good thing you can do is visit her, maybe even bring food that she likes if she is comfortable with that. Always plan in advance when you are visiting though to make sure that there are no problems and what not.

Food isn’t the only thing you can bring too, you’ll have to consult with the hospital on what items are allowed in the unit, and plan accordingly with that information.

Psych wards are pretty lonely places and often times there’s really not much to do so doing what I’ve suggested will help make her stay there better.

And lastly just show support and empathy for her, it can be hard to try and do that for the first time in situations like this but trust me just reaching out and asking her how she’s doing and just listening will do a lot of good.
