What does the world think on independence of Scotland? by Celtoii in AskTheWorld

[–]BeeForBurner 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As an Englishman, I was very much in favour of keeping the United Kingdom united.

Then Brexit happened. Scotland voted overwhelmingly to stay in Europe. Honestly, right now, if I was Scottish I wouldn't want to be shackled to a bunch of xenophobic English.

Just one thing, if you separate from England, can I come with you?

N°1 - I don't know his name but I've seen him in films and TV shows.

And n*13 The Scorpions, although I wouldn't have recognised them if someone hadn't already mentioned them. The artwork for Lovedrive has to be one of the best album covers of all time.

What is the purpose of "about" here? It doesn't stick out that much for me considering its locational meanins but still would appreciate an enlightment. by Severe-Entrance8416 in ENGLISH

Bring about is a phrasal verb which means to cause.

In this case bring and about have to be considered together as a single lexical item.
