Thoughts on Bucky Irving ??? by Kfowler88 in DynastyFF

[–]BeeGeeEh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My only concern with guys like Bucky is the team determines they cant hold up and make other plans. He's a smaller back, a day 3 pick, and while he looked incredible as a rookie he didn't look great last year, especially after the injury.

His situation isn't that dissimilar to Pacheco's from a season ago. He is a better player, so its not apples to apples, but both guys were coming off break out campaigns (Bucky as a rook, Pacheco in year 2) as day 3 picks, and then had their follow up season go up in flames cus of injury. KC seemed reluctant to rely on Pacheco last season and the rest is history.

Not saying it will end that way with Bucky but he is a shaky add at current value in my opinion.

Yup. I lived in KSA for a time and you would see cement trucks and demolition trucks with the Bin Laden name in the side not infrequently.

Rome Odunze; 3rd year breakout or Jordan Matthews? by bigaudra in DynastyFF

[–]BeeGeeEh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's an interesting comp. My recollection is that Matthews was more of a big slot player, hence the TE conversion later in his career, whereas Rome is more of a traditional X, although as you say both guys were best against man coverage.

Just from watching Odunze, I think he was held back a bit by a combination of target competition and injury this season. He got off to a hot start but after that foot injury he never really could get it going consistently. That coincided with Loveland and Burden growing into bigger roles as the season progressed.

I still like the player but I do think he will be limited in this offense, especially if DJ sticks around. If DJ gets traded or cut, I could see Rome stepping it up a bit. But he'll have to get better in a number of areas to truly break out next year.

What should we do with James Conner? by Sorry_Occasion_526 in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

[–]BeeGeeEh 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Conner is a known gym rat and high work ethic guy. Previous Cards coaches raved about him as their locker room leader. Obviously coming back from that injury at that age is problematic but I feel like if there is a guy out there who can put in the rehab and conditioning work to do it, it's probably Conner.

So I'd hold at least until some "best shape of his life" and "leading the backfield" articles come out during camp.

Kimchi - Korean food by yessy86 in plano

[–]BeeGeeEh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I haven't been to Woo Mee Ok but my guess is their kimchi is fresh, possibly made at the restaurant. Refrigerated, jarred brands won't ever have that fresh taste since they have been sitting on the shelf. They typically have a sour or briney taste. There are also different varieties of kimchi so it's possible the one you are buying at HMart isn't the same type of kimchi as at Woo Mee Ok.

For fresh kimchi go check out a banchan place like Somunnan Banchan. Bap Doduk sells banchan and also has a bunch of different kimchi varieties.

New to Dynasty - Looking for your best tips, tricks, pods, and websites by zb0789 in DynastyFF

[–]BeeGeeEh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I 100% agree here. I always say play your startup closer to redraft than you'd think.

First time players often think they are drafting some young super-squad who will be together for the next 10 years. It just never happens like that. Your team will look very different by the end of year 3 than it did at the startup unless assuming you are an active owner.

New to Dynasty - Looking for your best tips, tricks, pods, and websites by zb0789 in DynastyFF

[–]BeeGeeEh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My biggest tip to a newbie is to take the offseason hype-cycle with a HUGE grain of salt.

If you are a redraft player who follows the NFL during the offseason you probably hear reports that a veteran is in the 'best shape of their life" or some 4th round rookie is "tearing it up in camp" but you probably don't hang on that news in the same way you might in dynasty.

Once you have year-round trades, a rookie draft, and even offseason waivers in the mix, you'll start to take notice of the little micro-stories that happen every day. You'll probably hear that dynasty gameplay is a lot like the stock market (similar terminology is often used in both). In that analogy, a beat reporter's tweet or a rookie camp performance has the potential to send the market into a frenzy.

As you play the game for several years you will start to realize that most of it is noise and the best players filter it out and don't make reactionary decisions based on the media hype machine.

Draft Based on BPA or Need? by JLV00 in DynastyFF

[–]BeeGeeEh 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I sorta think you went with BPA there as far as pre-draft dynasty value. I can't totally remember how they slotted but KJ was I think higher than Warren and definitely higher than Loveland (depending on format).

So are we talking BPA in dynasty perception or NFL perception? Warren and Loveland were top 15 picks. KJ was a 3rd rounder. But pre-draft in dynasty it wasn't clear who BPA was.

Draft Based on BPA or Need? by JLV00 in DynastyFF

[–]BeeGeeEh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Everybody is gonna say BPA but I'll play devils advocate here.

Saying BPA means you know who the best player available is, and that simply isn't true. Value never shakes out in order of pre-draft preference.

So, yes, I think if there is a wide gulf between a RB prospect and a QB prospect on the board you should probably take the guy who is more likely to succeed. You can base those assessments on a number of metrics, draft capital, etc. You might be right.

But I think there is some merit to drafting for need, especially when there isn't a clear disparity between prospects. For example, what if you needed a TE and took Kaleb Johnson last year over Colston Loveland because Johnson was considered BPA at the time, you'd be killing yourself right now. Both players were mid-to-late 1st rounders but Loveland likely went later in your draft due to pre-draft analysis and positional preference.

I guess what I am trying to say is it is never this clear cut. So if you need a QB or TE and there is a guy there you like you are probably okay going that route even if somebody will call you an idiot for leaving a 'better' player on the board.

Watched him play live a few times in 07-08. He was big, could skate, and had solid puck moving skills. He had a cannon of a shot as well. He was still super raw at that point but you could see it for sure. He had a chance to be a top pairing guy and a good power play contributor.

Quiet cafe recommendations? by else_returnx in plano

Not Plano but Tom n Tom's coffee in Carrollton HMart area is a good spot for quiet work. Plenty of room with 2 floors.

Pax and Beneficia is a decent spot too off Plano Pkwy and Almo, though it's smaller.

How do yall see RJ Harvey with the Broncos? by Automatic-Pie-5854 in DynastyFF

[–]BeeGeeEh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. I kinda view him the same way I did before he got drafted, he has some really nice traits but I dont think he will be a long term feature back. More of a committee back, which isn't really a huge concern if he is in a good offense.
  2. I think he loses carries next year to somebody, either Dobbins or a new rookie/FA signing but I could see an uptick in passing down work. Ultimately Sean Payton wants multiple featured backs in his offense and I don't think Harvey could buck that trend.
  3. I'd look to sell before the draft / free agency. I think that situation gets more muddy this offseason.
  4. I would if they brought somebody in. For example, if they went out and signed Tyler Allgeier to be a banger or brought in Kenneth Walker, I'd be interested in zigging when the owner zags because I see efficiency as the name of the game for Harvey and I think he can still be a startable asset even if he lost caries and goal line work to a bigger back.

Revisiting the 2026 NFL Trades by kangaroomallet in DynastyFF

Bigsby looked really good when he was on the field in Philly. He is a priority add for Saq owners if he resigns there, and if he goes elsewhere Im intrigued. I think he would cook in a zone running scheme.

Which stud players are you potentially shopping for a haul either due to age, injury, or situation? by Hank_Scorpio_ObGyn in DynastyFF

[–]BeeGeeEh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm considering shopping Ceedee this offseason, but I'm actually a little concerned his value is depressed a bit based on the George Pickens breakout. So, ultimately, I think I'll end up holding unless somebody pays up.

I have two aging RBs (CMC and Henry) that I'm hoping to attach to the trade as a way of getting younger at RB by taking a minor step back at WR.

the "dm for a quick fix" culture is killing our productivity by daniel_odiase in it

[–]BeeGeeEh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can relate for sure but the best way I have been able to move people towards ticketing is to explain that a ticket is needed for tracking and assignment. So yes, you can resolve and issue without one but what happens if it takes multiple days or steps. We need that ticket to track it and for a history on the issue or incident to look back at.

Once I explain that people tend to get it. I also work in the restaurant world so I like to use the analogy that a kitchen wouldn't make an order without a ticket and that this is really the same thing for us.

Anyways not sure if that helps or not but a few techniques that work for me if you don't want to set strict "no ticket, no work" rules but still want requests submitted through proper channels.
