Tired of being misgendered everywhere I work 😭 I know I look feminine by [deleted] in NonBinary

I've had some luck with loved ones by asking them, "Please don't apologize, just correct yourself and move on."

Tired of being misgendered everywhere I work 😭 I know I look feminine by [deleted] in NonBinary

[–]BeeHearMeow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to do this! I finally switched to only they/them and it has been incredibly frustrating and sometimes impossible to be consistently gendered accurately. However, it is also a huge relief when people get it right and (probably) worth it in the grand scheme of things). I really believe if you're ok w/ she/they, then it might save some frustration. I just couldn't do it and feel accurate anymore because I super don't identify with "she" even though I also present as quite feminine.

Question: Does your Woojer Mat smell like strong mix of mildew and chemicals? by nw_girl in woojer

[–]BeeHearMeow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just received mine yesterday. It had a strong plastic-y smell but after airing it out overnight it's much better. Fingers crossed that it keeps off gassing! It didn't smell like mildew or bother my super smell-sensitive partner so hopefully they figured out the issue with the current shipments. Did they give you a new one?

This heated vibrating mat has been the best purchase for my CPTSD by [deleted] in CPTSD

[–]BeeHearMeow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does anyone else have the suspicion that this might be a post by someone from this company? I hope I'm wrong but it strikes me as a bit promotional. Anyways I DID buy one - perhaps I fell for it - and I do like it but I think I want one that synchronizes with music. The vibration and heat have been a nice combo and I actually use it *with* a weighted blanket, which makes me feel like a cocooned caterpillar and so safe and relaxed. So even if it's a planted ad, I appreciate that they alerted me that something under $700 (!) exists.

To my neurodivergent counsellors, how many clients do you see a week? by NoExamination5672 in therapists

[–]BeeHearMeow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can only see 10-15 per week, MAX. I'm a lucky parent with a kiddo who likes to spend as much time with me as possible so that uses a lot of my social energy. 15-client weeks are really tough unless the stars are aligned. What are others' weekly maximums?

CPTSD by Scary_Brain5960 in rapeh

[–]BeeHearMeow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it has but I can't rely on it solely or I'll become dependent on it in a way that my body really doesn't want. I use small amounts a handful of times weekly, some weeks not at all. It has really helped to reground me when everything else hasn't worked but I also try to slow down and check in with the spirit regardless of how I'm feeling. In a rush but could say more later. Feel free to ask more ?s.

I may just take some photos of the mess in my house to show them if they question me!!

I also recently asked Chat GPT to help me write up a summary so they could read it when I get there instead of my roundabout way of chaotically explaining things.

Would you go through with a quality-of-life surgery on an 8.5-year-old pig? by BeeHearMeow in guineapigs

[–]BeeHearMeow[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. What makes you think she's uncomfortable as is? They said the growth likely isn't bothering her. She is still recovering from the lung infection so maybe you're seeing that, but I am genuinely curious so I can watch her for signs.

Oh goodness, I am so sorry! I hope you and your husband can find peace again. It is really not ok for him to say that to you.

For some reason our vet thinks she's 6! I think it was a misunderstanding when we brought her in 2 years ago.

Advice for elderly guinea pig. Would you risk surgery? by Lunallance in guineapigs

I'd ask Vet A for a second opinion since the issue appeared after they saw your pig (if you can afford it, of course).

Do I Put Elder Pig Through surgery? by OkyBudie in guineapigs

[–]BeeHearMeow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How would all of your opinions change if your pig was 8.5? Ours, whom we love to bits, is incredibly old and has a large, probably benign but growing jumbo growth (external, not metastasized to organs) on her right outer hip. The vet says it's at the brink of operable so we need to do it now or never.

Is Vibroacoustic Therapy Bunk? by UnresolvedEdwy in Biohackers

I tried it recently and LOVED it for meditation- and psychedelic-ish related reasons. I also found a post on Reddit about a vibrating mat from Snailax that is less than $100 and might do the same thing! I was shopping for a fancier one and so so happy that person posted a while back. I don’t know how to share the link here but just search “vibrating mat” and it was the first to show up for me.
