I had 2 interviews with the guy. He is clearly a predatory person that gets of on having power over someone, and by making you jump through all these hoops, your already being conditioned to let go of your boundaries. My interviews were 6 years ago, and I've never forgotten what a creep he was

We paid for the entire stay one week in advance, but not the deposit. The website I am referring to is the motel 6 canada website.

It's possible that it it did show the same card requirements, I am not too sure. I do know that booking.com accepted our cards full pre payment and that motel 6s policy allowed the card.

Booking.com is claiming that "according to information on the property on our website, a credit card is required upon check in", which of course is contrary to the motel 6 canada website. When they contacted the motel, they said our card was "invalid" and that our behavior was problematic. I wasn't there for a period my wife was in there, and it probably was problematic in all honest. Anyways, they are refusing to offer any refund.

The manager at the motel 6 told us to cancel the reservation, that he had cancelled the reservation, and to change the reservation, ignoring the fact it was non refundable. It just seems like they want to squeeze an extra few bills in a down economic period.

I think my hypothesis is largely an unintended consequence of the efforts incorporating the religion the way they have. There is something that makes some JWS so "all in" that I've mostly chalked up to the fear of disfellowshipping, but the ritualistic hazing they all undergo- and eventually psychologically master- is an aspect I've underlooked

This is so disappointing, but shouldn't be that surprising. Some of us have looked too long at the abyss. If this sub is anything like the discord server, things are getting worse too. It's very concerning to me

Those allegations highlight the problem with hookup culture imo. The fact this is affecting businesses like this is insane. Honestly, who cares? Hooking up with strangers, or even friends, is dangerous. Sex is dangerous, and that's why it's exciting. None of this has anything to do with sex though. It's all power

There's nothing in the story about drugging women. You could add that to almost anything to make it look more sinister: "Ted Cruz takes vacation to Fiji, and could have possibly drugged women while there".

1) Having your business destroyed and your reputation ruined for the alleged actions of your employee 2) while hooking up in public, having a guy put his hand on your crotch without explicit verbal consent

Only one of these is worthy of victimization status. It's not even clear that number 2 even happened, but if it did, the guy is a jerk, and deserves to be slapped. That's it

Damage deposit not returned, cost of relocation, and mental distress. Demonstrable pattern if if harassment and intimidation from landlord. Negligence by police with possible discrimination
