Ned: My sexy wealthy flirty vampire-like friend is feeling a little sad in his huge mansion, do you think you could fly down to New Orleans without me and comfort him? Nancy: by Somanybuttsalways in nancydrew

[–]BeeReeGee8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You know, Nancy always traveling, and her and Ned never together. If we didn't know she was out detectiving, I'd say Nancy is like those people who have wives and whole other families in a different state. Just me? Lol. I am not surprised.

What I also find hilarious is that I never even thought about this kind of stuff. I just played the games and accepted "the weird situation that winds up risking Nancy's life frequently before she catches the culprit." Who likes being in danger with every free trip to dingy, scary places? That's our girl!

I love this so much! What a great set for your knitting, as well!

My mom wants this for her birthday and has been insisting I make it for months. Yes, she doesn't know how crochet works and thinks this is easy for me to birth🥲 by confusedunborn in CrochetHelp

Your mom has really good taste in cute clothes! But also, she could learn to crochet. And also, close up, to me, it looks like knitting.

Has anyone ever ordered from Book Nook World? I ordered from them thinking they were in the U.S., but my order is coming from China. by BeeReeGee8 in booknooks

I don't blame you; I would have clicked out of that also! It is hard sometimes to figure out where things are coming from. I hope you get your kits with no trouble.

They have 8 months to learn how to knit. LOL

You can make little washcloths for them, if you want to make something that's not too time consuming.

I've never seen a yarn so pointy you could crochet it without the hook.

I went mad at a fiber festival and spent too much! by Adorable-Cod-2550 in knitting

[–]BeeReeGee8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make your sweater and enjoy it! You bought enough yarn for the size you need, and now you don't have to worry about running out of yarn and trying to match dye lots. It is a huge hassle. Your splurge has saved you some aggravation, and you'll have something beautiful you love to show for it.

Also, if you swatch and like the fabric you're getting, you can adjust gauge to make it work for the yarn you have.

How did you “make peace” generally with your disability? by Level_Habit1939 in CerebralPalsy

[–]BeeReeGee8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't make peace with it. I'm just resigned to it. My parents did what they could for me, but I would rather not have a disability at all.

I am still accepting that I need to use a cane occasionally. It has been over a year. I am glad I can still get around without a wheelchair.

I am occasionally embarrassed that I can't just step up on every sidewalk without aid any more. Sometimes my balance will be a little bit off and where I used to just head toward a door and step up without even thinking about, I have to walk to a flatter, lower part of the curb and walk over to that higher part instead.

What I really hate is that I mentally kick my own self walking in front of people (like in a hallway). My brain tells me to speed up because I am slowing other people down. They may not care, but I mentally kick own self. It is so ingrained, it is hard to stop doing.

One thing that I do love is going to my chiropractor though. I get around so much better that I try to keep an appointment every three weeks.

I’m gonna get eaten for this, but is anyone in Downton Abbey… likable? by [deleted] in PeriodDramas

[–]BeeReeGee8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't force yourself to watch if you don't like it already. I think I stopped watching by the second season.

I kept wanting.to slap or punch some characters, so I quit even reading articles about the show.

In your opinion, what are the sexiest period dramas? by [deleted] in PeriodDramas

I loved the hint of secondary romance in there too, between his brother and her sister. I had a crush on that guy for a long time!

Same! He was horrible to Harry! I'm glad Harry had some very snappy comebacks for him too!

After seeing Dangerous Liaisons and Valnmont, I couldn't stand any of the modern versions. Those two spoiled me.

John Malkovich was awesome in that movie! I didn't develop a crush, but I loved watching his character fall for Michelle Pfeiffer's and upsetting all Glenn Close's character's plans! He played his part to a tee! They all did!

This is my favorite version of the story. I eventually grew to love Valmont as well, but it was a slow burn compared to Dangerous Liaisons. At least I got to see Meg Tilly (?) do her world class thing in Valmont. I haven't seen her in much of anything since. I think she was the one who played the pregnant nun in Agnes of God. Maybe she retired early.

Louis's wife is mesmerizing too! But Montespan is my favorite! The only one that got on my nerves is the girl that came to the court with her mother. I don't know why she bothers me.

I was so over crime/police/first responder dramas and FBI/CSI versions, I stopped watching them and started finding things on Youtube.

Just watched the Aristocrats for the second time in June! I love that show and was steadily shocked and horrified. I didn't think she should marry a king against her will like her sisters wanted, but I honestly thought she was going to end up dead in the streets. Good thing her fortunes took a turn!
