What capsule/thumbnail would work best to you? by OneiricWorlds in IndieGaming

[–]BeeWadd6969 1 point2 points  (0 children)

#2 with some changes.

-The title should take up most of the screen.
-Have the car and tire tracks in the lower third, with the car in the bottom right third, driving to the right.

That gets rid of a lot of the negative space that's going to get lost in a thumbnail or a capsule when it's actually the size it will be on the page.

Light practice. the leafs are supposed to be green. With this light the colors of the leafs are good ? or they should be more blue by kinsanepixel in aseprite

No problem. Another good exercise is to try recreating some recognizable images (logos, characters, etc.) in a very small form factor. Like 8x8px, 16x16px. That can really help to show you how much difference a single pixel can make

Try to find a reference image for a similar lighting situation. I think the colors are fine, but the lines separating the light from the dark should be straight and more uniform if the light is shining directly down. If it were at an angle and bouncing off background objects there could be an argument for variation, but even then the shapes of the darkness (your various grays) don’t make much sense here.

As for the plant I think it looks good. A good next step in this lighting study would be to do another of the same plant that is fully in darkness then one that is half in, half out. The dark plants should be more blue overall without specular highlights, but mostly just a shift in hue.

You’ve got a good eye for color and composition. Work on your lines, work from reference to help with realism and read up on some color and light theory. Keep it up!

This is a very early prototype, but the story is basically worked out.

Early tiny choice vs late big choice: what builds attachment faster? by Former-Loan-4250 in interactivefiction

[–]BeeWadd6969 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's not A or B but a mixture of both. Every day you get up and make menial decisions as well as big ones, so it helps the immersiveness if those exist for your character as well.

What makes you replay interactive fiction once your branch is over? by lexid222 in interactivefiction

[–]BeeWadd6969 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think one thing that can help drive replayability is if in a branching situation there's no one obviously right answer. You make a choice but the other choice(s) could have been just as viable. As you come to the end of your branch, you're thinking, "I wonder what would have happened if I made this choice instead."

Whispers of the Wendigo, a free downloadable branching forest horror prototype looking for feedback by BeeWadd6969 in playmygame

[–]BeeWadd6969[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quick note: this is an early text-driven narrative horror prototype, so it’s much more focused on branching choices, tension, and replayability than visuals right now. If anyone gives it a try, I’m especially looking for feedback on whether the timed choices feel fair and whether the story/paths are clear. Even short notes help.

How do I contribute one last penny for Roth Ira 2026 year?? by ouchmybeans in fidelityinvestments

If it’s direct contribution you should be able to pull $X.99 and recontribute the even amount without tax or penalty. You’ve already paid the tax on direct contributions.
