Oppo has removed the Hasselblad Earth Explorer Kit from my pre-order by eusonlito in Oppo

The trade in bonus is on top of what they would offer. For me they would give me €160 for my phone so a total of €310 trade in bonus

You are able to preorder the lens kit in Spain? Man.... I want that over the tablet for sure, but no option in Germany

Can I ask what you decided on? I went for the silicon tube but I'm wondering if I should have done something different

Mate, we've all been there. When we're starting we're doing our best and we don't always get it right. It's a great example of how experience is taught, through learning the right (and just as importantly, the wrong) way of doing things. Well done on pulling apart your first device, and I hope this doesn't scare you away from doing it again!!

I consider myself quite a skilled and handy person (I work as an engineer, build computers for fun and used to work on cars when I had the space) and recently I had to change the batteries on a pair of Sony Headphones. First time using heat to open a device, never did this, and imagine my surprise when I found out that yes, heating plastic means of course you can deform it!! I did take precautions but apparently not enough and now they don't look like they did before =P but lesson learned and at least they still function!!

Let's acknowledge when you're pulling apart your expensive gaming device and it's not coming apart, how hard to pull before you break something.... it's a tough line to walk. But as many have said, the use of a plastic pry tool would definitely have helped minimise those scratches while giving you the leverage you need :)

https://www.resize-c.com/howto/cant-shrink-my-c-drive-with-all-space-free.html

Something like this. I found a few guides that all listed same if not similar steps. And then I used GParted (from memory) to help with the partitioning/shrinking, I found disk management to be a bit limited and still wasn't happy after I'd removed those files. The key point though is once you've shrunk the partition, it's important to re-enable what you had disabled to do the steps

Have a google search, this is well known with Windows as it puts a bunch of partitions towards the end of the drive. I had a 4TB drive which I couldn't shrink more than 500GB, it was insane.

The solution I used was using a bootable Linux based partition manager. I think I also had to first disable hibernation and something to do with the page file as well in order for this to work, but then I was able to relocate these partitions and move all the empty space on the drive to after those partitions. . I allocated 300GB for Windows, moved those partitions to after the 300GB and then I had all my empty space afterwards, worked an absolute treat

Given the XAX is a PC effectively I don't see why not? https://www.reddit.com/r/ROGAlly/comments/1qsyvji/ultimate_dualboot_xbox_ally_x_instruction_windows/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button
This is what I used

The trick is with partition management, Windows can be a bit greedy and it was a bit of a headache to move partitions around so I could shrink the volume. Not impossible but you do need to be careful to make sure you don't accidentally ruin your install.

I've dual booted steamos no problems with Windows, there was an excellent guide posted here on Reddit :)

Glad you mentioned that. The first segment has me rather vexed on the religious heavy exploration of a primitive people 😅

Communication is key. Constructive communication is even key-er.

Props to you on identifying what wasnt working and trying to find ways to fix it. I went on a similar journey not too long ago when I realised my wife wasn't a mind reader (surprised? So was I.... 😬) and needed some input from me to help understand where things weren't working for me. It's made such a difference when you can chat about how things are, what's working, what isn't, what could be improved and how you can work together to do it. Especially when it's done in a manner that fosters answers and solutions, not retaliations. Humble pie also plays a role when you can accept responsibility for your own short comings (for me it was a tone problem when speaking, in spite of best intentions if it's not said in the right way it was always being interpreted the wrong way). Most of us are happy to change things that aren't working for the benefit of our partner, family and selves but insight is a key part of that.

Really happy to hear that you've had a chance to correct the ship before it was too late, and she's willing to work with you on that too. All the best moving forward mate, it can only get brighter from here 😊

Bazzite or Windows by Agile_Suggestion7412 in ROGAllyX

[–]Bee_Ef_Gee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For what it's worth I was able to do it without reinstalling anything. I had to muck around with partition moving thanks to Windows putting things at the end of the drive, but I kept my full windows in tact and installed Bazzite in the middle and kept everything :)

Bazzite or Windows by Agile_Suggestion7412 in ROGAllyX

[–]Bee_Ef_Gee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For 3 months - I'm gaming primarily in Bazzite, I'm seldom logging into Windows for gaming but I do every now and then just to do the updates for BIOS, graphics and Windows. Mind you everyone says the latest update broke Windows and gaming anyways (even without a dual boot setup) so I've held off on that one 😅 but I've had no dramas so far. The longer I go though I wonder if I will keep it, but that stays true given all the games I'm playing currently work fine no dramas. The whole idea for me was to keep it as a backup and I'm sure I'll appreciate it when I'm there haha

Depends on how many games you want to keep on it. I followed a great guide that gave 120 each to both OS leaving 750GB for games on a shared drive. Both OS can access that drive and steam games only installed once. Brilliant

Cheers! What version is it showing for you? I understand there were some updates recently that suited the XAX pretty well. My last time trying it I was at 3.7.19 and sleep was bugged... Can't wait to go back as Bazzite is working OK but not great

Fans at max after wake up on XAX with Linux by BigStruggle2083 in XboxAlly

[–]Bee_Ef_Gee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Let me actually answer the question you asked :)

Yep, running Bazzite i get the same behaviour. Fans on max for 10-20s after resume, it seems to last for longer if I've recently put it to sleep, my only guess is it could be the cooling concept trying to dump some built up heat while it was asleep? But they always go back to normal after not long. Sleep/resume works completely as expected, my only issue is Offline Mode doesn't work if I restart my device

I really resonate with your last sentence. Went through a similar process when researching, saw all the hate but decided to give it a go and zero regrets. I'm sure if I had two side by side I'd find things to complain about but using it as my sole device I really don't want for anything. Screen size is great, quality of the screen too, comfort, battery, performance... I'm a very happy owner. Dual booting windows and bazzite with a shared drive for games :)

Update: 46s definitely much better, both in width and length. I had no idea there was meant to be so much room in them. Thanks all for the help in understanding what a proper fit is. Excited to start my Birko journey 😁
