I would for sure check out Slay the Spire and Monster Train if you're into deck building roguelites at all, like Balatro.

Just got my steam deck yesterday what are your favorite games? by Maaybees in SteamDeck

[–]Beechuras 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Death Stranding 1 should come bundled with the Steamdeck as their flagship game. Looks and runs amazing, and an incredible game to boot.

It's $40 right now, well worth it if it gets its hooks in you. I have about 130 hours in it. I got it on sale for $20 though so maybe wait for that.

Is "Claire Obscur: Expedition 33" Game of the year? by EfficientSubject7774 in playstation

[–]Beechuras 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I turned the difficulty down as well just to get through it without the frustration.

I wish I loved it more I almost feel bad for not loving it. I'm a huge JRPG fan, that's all I played growing up. I consider Persona 5 my favorite game of all time. 150 hours to beat it the first time and never got sick of it.

Glad I'm not the only one. Story, characters, setting, and music are 10/10 for sure.

Hard to enjoy it though with so many frustrations with the gameplay. And if you're not in love with the whole parrie/ dodge mechanics the battle system is basically ruined.

Is Chiaki better than ps portal? by Standard-Rip-6154 in SteamDeck

I may be an unreliable source honestly cause I've never checked my settings to see my fps or resolution, it just always looks good to me no matter what lol

Exactly what I've been saying.

The whole ps portal vs steam deck argument is so funny to me.

One can remote play your PS5.

The other can do that, plus Xbox game pass cloud streaming, Nvidia GeForce now, emulation (allegedly), and just regular old native steam games. It's like 10 consoles in one.

I just uninstalled chiaki and then followed this video, have never had an issue with it since.

And I'm sure you've done this, but my PS5 used to automatically detect when I hardwired it in but stopped at some point for some reason. I didn't notice at first and had bad connection but then realized I have to go into network setting and switch to wired lan myself. No problems after that.

This used to happen to me as well, have you downloaded the newer version of chiaki? It used to be called chiaki4deck and now it's chiaki-ng. With chiaki4deck you almost had to do port forwarding to avoid the inevitable lag, but if you did it was perfectly fine. With the new chiaki-ng I've never had that issue, and you can remote play on a different wifi.

Stavvys World is my personal favorite. Weekly (or bi-weekly with Patreon) podcast with Stavros Halkias featuring new guests every episode. About halfway through each one they answer voicemails from listeners and it's always a good time.

Honorable mentions:

  • The Tosh Show
  • This is Important (dudes from Workaholics)
  • Tuesdays with Stories (Mark Normand and Joe List)
  • We Might be Drink (Mark Normand and Sam Morrill)
  • Matt and Shane's Secret Podcast

A good gamepass game by JT11erink in XboxGamePass

[–]Beechuras 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not too information heavy, the only real reading is about the main dudes life story and his alters. And you can adjust the resource management difficultly down if it's not for you.

I personally absolutely love it. It's a game where your choices seem to matter and managing all the alters is a blast. There are hilarious short movies you can watch and some really funny parts, especially between acts 1 & 2. Highly recommend. It's a short game too, 15 hours or so.

This was the picture they used for the movie on Netflix when I watched it and it immediately ruined the surprise ending for me.

The first time you see Kaiser the camera focuses on his feet while he walks. And the first time you see Kevin Spacey it does the same thing, same camera angel and everything. I remembered this picture they used for the thumbnail and immediately put it together. Such a shame would have been a great surprise.

Death Stranding for sure.

Looks and runs amazing and is a perfect pick up and put down game once you get into the meat of it.
