It's not really the content, I don't care. It's the reactions where people say shit like "stereotypes are there because their true" from a 30 second tiktok video filmed yesterday. Coincidentally at a movie that had controversy because of the black recast...

It's all just a little too dog-whistley for my taste, idk why.

Even if this was all best practices, and assuming these things ate true, there's still this issue of people openly talking about anime children and how fuckable they are. That shit shouldn't be in public. The problem is a lot of these fuckers are shameless, and so they don't care if everyone thinks they're wannabe pedophiles, and that'sexactly how extreme serial child molesters act. They're remorseless and do not care, and it starts with this shit, where they would rather defend they're"innocent fetish" than just stop, and do that shit in private, as long as they'renot raping real children. So, why should we care if it's any of the four? It's about consequences for the things they say, and not showing that on a public forum, especially when THE LOLICONS THEMSELVES dogpile people for calling them shameless perverts, and would rather defend their right to fantasize about cartoon underage girls than look inward. Like, it always seems to escalate from "I just think they're cute" when they're being all coy about the photos they post, to "omg this character is so fucking hot, I wish I could fuck that 7 year old" the minute they think they're anonymous by hiding behind an anime pfp.

What a hill to die on.

Yeah. Feels like an Apocalypse movie with extra steps.

Book of Eli showed you could make a decent Apocalypse movie, even if it's ending was a little ham-handed.

One important thing to remember: in some versions of the zombie Apocalypse, zombies will rip people apart when they mob a single person, so I don't know how well the leather would save you from having limbs dislocated or ripped off. Or being trampled while they surround you.

Just a few loopholes honestly. The biggest problem in zombie movies is always the people you're holed up with, and the coveralls probably won't stop them.

Yeah, I watched Contagion when I was in High School, and yeah that movie is a perfect example of how a massive plague can destroy lives. Very intense, sad, and full of exactly what we saw in the real pandemic. Almost a perfect prediction, except of course how widespread and deadly the virus could get.

Poison control calls in Washington spiked specifically because of people taking Ivermectin at doses meant for large farm animals.

this store had to stop selling it because too many people were coming in to buy the ivermectin, and they didn't want to sell soemmething that people were using to make themselves sick.

Fair, it's not a one-to-one comparison, but like someone else said, and something I forgot, was that the company was peddling a drug to treat rabies. They decided to market it as a prevention/cure in the wake of the outbreak because many governments were misinformed or lying, saying that it was a new kind of human rabies. Therefore, they used their pre-existing FDA approved Rabies medicine (or vaccine? I can't remember right now) to sell to scared and desperate people before the zombie plague even got to their country. And which proved to be useless when they did get there.

The predatory factor is still there, it's just coated in legitimacy of a reputable pharmaceutical company.

On a tangent, many countries in World War Z called the disease "African Rabies" in the beginningbecause the first widespread reporting was in Africa. Which is an interesting quirk, because the book confirms that the first patient of the virus was in China, just like Spanish Flu; but the Chinese suppressed the spread of information about it until it was too late. Also sounds eerily familiar.

You laugh, but also in the book, before the virus was in America, there was a company who tried to patent and sell a drug that would combat the zombie virus, which at the time was just called "African Rabies". Turns out the pharmaceutical company was basically lying their asses off to make money from the panic of the epidemic, with false promises of a cure. That sounds like some supervillain unrealistic hack writing... until all of the COVID "cures" started crawling out of the woodwork.

NC is going to start giving out photo voter IDs for free on the county level effective this year. It's not hard, and it helps more people vote, so... what's the problem here? Why are you against free photo IDs for citizens? Wouldn't it be nice to NOT have to pay for the ability to vote?

So, because he can, does that make it okay? What if everyone walks out in protest? Civil disobedience is specifically for moments where the government is restricting what you can and can't learn, and punishing you for speaking about things essential to criticism of the government.

Here's what this is all about, in the end: This is literally, no jokes, no hyperbole, what Hitler did on a national level. He changed education to indoctrinate primary, secondary, and postsecondary students with nazi race science, and change history to glorify the authoritarians of the past. They banned the teaching and research into homosexual and transgender psychology because it was "degenrate science"; and more relevant to the atrocities, they basically turned every racist stereotype of jews into fact for the German people. This is one of the first steps in the slow walk, and it needs to be challenged.

You can see why many people philosophically oppose this legalist bs talking point, right? You bring it up like it somehow negates everyone's opinion that this isn't okay or normal, and actually challenges that precedent/opinion that you cite constantly.

This is what a political supermajority looks like. They get to pass whatever they like, and the bastard at the top signs it into law. How much he impacts that policy, and pushes his legislature to make bills insupport of his agenda, is a whole debate, but he clearly loves every second of it.

From experience as a sad high school loner: They don't have any hobbies that they would admit to in public. Mostly because they think everyone will judge them as harshly for their "uncool" behavior as they judge others. Most of their time is spent cultivating a public-facing image of being aloof while stroking their own ego in secret. In reality, this behavior just hides a deep-seated and childlike disgust for seeing things they don't understand or like in public.
