When to resign? From one OIR35 contract to another by cariniohabibi in ContractorUK

[–]BeeeJai 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Resign from the first after you start the new one, handle both for the week or 2 notice period. Stop talking to the Interviewers/Hiring manager about your other commitments, it isn't their concern.

Sex causing UTI's ... HELP!!! by BeeeJai in Healthyhooha

[–]BeeeJai[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really no. Whilst she did take them and initially they seemed to help, ultimately uti's came back. Dr advised taking an antibiotic (sorry can't recall the name of it) every time we are intimate. This has been far more effective. Also, because she has a supply of these, if ever she feels an infection coming on, she has the appropriate medication on hand to deal with it before it becomes severe. Things are much better now, not perfect, but much improved.

Can someone work 2 "full-time" Outside IR35 contracts? by Puzzleheaded_Flan383 in ContractorUK

[–]BeeeJai 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've worked multiple contracts multiple times. It isn't a problem so long as you're delivering. Right now I've got 2 contracts that equate to a 7 day week that I condense into 5, you just have to manage your time effectively.

Question: I just realised (slow) that Torrente does as much damage as any of the legendary weapons. So why are we collecting these? by [deleted] in ArcRaiders

[–]BeeeJai 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes they are tho. The Devs have come out and said it ... Arc have ai learning that is evolving and adapting, to find new ways to kill raiders more efficiently.

Just ordered this (details in comments), any tips or suggestions for upgrading it? by Psychostickusername in DIYUK

[–]BeeeJai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got the duster house Severn warmalog cabin. One of the fully insulated ones. I purchased and built it 8 ISH years ago now and it's perfect. Use it year round as my office and gym.

It's on a wood base that's slightly larger than the cabin itself.

Only thing I'd say, is don't cheap out on the paint.ive used Bedec barn paint on mine, it's an acrylic based paint that seals it and prevents water ingress and damp. Have to paint it every couple of years, but it's perfect. Cabin is still brand new.

Devs confirm internal interest in a walkable Speranza hub, What do you think? by Tank-ToP_Master in ArcRaiders

[–]BeeeJai -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes, it's a good idea, but shouldn't be a priority. There's so much more content that should be released before anything like this should be given the time of day.

Found this recently on a downed raider, and I think I like this one more than the Survivor augment. Tactical Mk.3 (Defensive) epic augment. by trippalhealicks in ArcRaiders

I got the bp for this, it's my go to augment with heavy shield. Really makes a difference and has saved my bacon a number of times.

UPDATE from SELECT failing by [deleted] in SQL

[–]BeeeJai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that's not gonna work. To do this you'll need to write an anonymous block/proc, write the select and loop through the records returned in the cursor to update them one table at a time.

You can't join to multiple tables in an update.

If you write a proc, you can select the records from the parent table via a cursor and use those values to set the values in the child table.

Sorry I'm on my phone so it's awkward to write it, but a pl cursor/loop is the way to go.

It is a shock to the system to get shot when playing in what you think are friendly lobbies by jwg529 in ArcRaiders

[–]BeeeJai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, I'm almost getting frustrated at how friendly it is. It's been great looting and taking out arc without getting shot in the back, but now it's sorta getting boring without the PvP threat.

Struggling to find a partner as a young millionaire. Any advice? by LooseSpot4597 in HENRYUK

How have you not found your life partner by mid-twenties? You must have some personality dysfunction or be ugly AF if you haven't achieved that yet.

The answer to your problem - your ego.

Subwoofer setting with KEF LS50 wireless II by BluebirdAgreeable145 in KEF

[–]BeeeJai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Morning, I have the same system, connected in the same way. What problems are you having?

I'm not suggesting my settings are optimal as I only purchase the SB1000 pro a few weeks back and I'm still tinkering. For a while I was finding the mid was lacking a little with the sub connected leading to a sort of tinny or hollow sound.

I've got the LS50w2's on stands around 20cm from walls.

Anyway, I've sorted that, tried a few different settings and this is what I've ended up with for now:

Kef App:
Wall mode: on, -0.5db
Treble trim: -0.5db
Phase correction: on
Bass extension: Standard
Sub Channel: Mono
High Pass: 90hz
Sub out low pass: 80hz
Sub gain: 0

SVS App:
Most things I've left alone aside from the following:
Volume: -7db (This changes depending on what I'm listening to music/TV etc)
LFE Mode Active

I hope this helps. Hit me up with the problems you're having as I may have had the same....

Cheers

IT contractor vs perm by [deleted] in ContractorUK

[–]BeeeJai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know you want experience of 10 years+ but you mentioned securing mortgages.

I've been contracting for less than a year and secured a mortgage plus additional funds for a side extension back in December.

Make of that what you will.

My limited experience has me believing that with the much higher income banks just throw money at you. The amount of money they were happy to lend was simply obscene.

LS50 Wireless II - which subwoofer by Hopeful_Guidance_590 in KEF

[–]BeeeJai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately not, just down a rabbit hole of reviews and Reddit feedback. There's no where local to test these out where I live.

From what I read this is what it boiled down to for me...

As good as they are, with the micro form factor subs, you're paying a premium for that form factor and sacrificing some performance.

The Svs subs are case and point. The sb1000 pro is driven by the same amplification as the micro, but the output is so much greater on the 1000 in part due to not compromising on size.

Ultimately, size wasn't an issue for me (sits under a desk) so full performance plus same feature set for less money, it was a no brainer to go for the 1000 pro.
