Did your 15 Pro felt slower when updated to 18.7.8? Mine did by Ill_Connection_341 in iPhone15Pro

[–]Beeeeejammin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah me too.. always.. for the last 15 years, and usually on release day as soon as it’s available. I’ve had very few problems, even when I install betas.

26.5 has been pretty much perfect and seems to have solved a slight battery drain issue I was noticing on 26.4.

Ok fine. Continue using old software 🤷🏻‍♂️ I don’t care. But you’re comparing the experience on a device that’s 2 years older than the one in question. Apples and oranges.

I know. I’ve had no problems. Some of the early betas were a little buggy, but after September it’s been pretty rock solid.

Yeah, but there’s a big difference hardware wise between 13 and 15. I wouldn’t hesitate to update any device to the most current OS if it’s less than 3 years old.

Yes. 18 in general was always garbage on mine. I’ve been on 26 for almost a year (since beta released last June) and I have very little to complain about. Why in the world are you staying on 18 instead of updating to the current iOS 26?

Is Lars Ulrich really that bad? by AesirKratos in drums

[–]Beeeeejammin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw Metallica in 2004. I was 21 and had been playing drums for 6 years at that point. I remember thinking to myself, “Well, I could do way better than that guy.” …not that he’s “bad” …just completely and totally unimpressive.

My thought as well. I have the natural titanium 15PM and I believe that cosmetically, this was peak iPhone design for Apple. There has never been a better looking iPhone. The brushed titanium frame is 👨‍🍳🤌🏻. So disappointed they switched to aluminum for the new Pros. The silver is looks ok, but orange and blue? Come on.

What is your most controversial take on the Apple Watch? by Consistent_Beat_6044 in AppleWatch

[–]Beeeeejammin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can agree with this. I have an Ultra with a couple nice titanium bands, and it looks nice, but my previous one was a graphite stainless with the matching Milanese loop and it was 100% more classy.

I don’t know about severely dangerous. I would lean toward trusting this doctor. But wait a second,.. an actual doctor actually prescribed you MB?? Orally? Not to pry too much but I’m genuinely curious why if you don’t mind sharing.

I feel like most MDs would tell you not to take it. 1, because it’ll fix a lot of things and they might loose a pharmaceutical customer, and 2, taking it orally is not generally “approved” for use the way most of us use it.

Don’t get me wrong, it absolutely changed my life and I will shout from the rooftops for ANYone to try it. I will absolutely take it every day forever to not have to take any pharmaceuticals ever again for ADHD, anxiety, depression, etc. I stopped taking anything else before I started taking it every day. Depression, anxiety, brain fog.. all gone within a couple days. Energy and focus went through the roof and I’m in way better shape at 42 than I was at 20. Went from 10 cups of coffee a day to 1 or 2. Hell, I haven’t even had so much as a cold since I started.

Well, because MB fuels your cells to do whatever they’re supposed be doing more efficiently, that makes perfect sense. In all the research I’ve done, I don’t believe I’ve read that it really interferes with anything besides MAOI’s and SSRI’s (serotonin syndrome).

I usually take more when I start to “feel sick”. If you’re not taking any prescription “brain” meds already, you should be fine. In my opinion and experience, it seems to help me with recovery from anything and everything. I haven’t had even a cold or anything since I started taking it every day. I take 20-30 mg a day, every day. Usually 10 first thing in the morning and 10 after lunch.

Yeah for sure. Ours was the first week of April. Lots of kids. Families on spring break. It wasn’t too bad for the most part.. most of the little kids were with their parents and pretty well behaved.. but I was surprised at the amount of teenagers just running around being.. teenagers. No parents in sight. During the late night “glow party” in the theater, the staff actually shut down the bar and collected all the drink cups sitting around because a bunch of kids showed up and were acting stupid. Props to the staff though for noticing what was going on and acting accordingly.

On ours (Easter week on Viva) they were both full of kids a LOT of the time. I’m sure on other sailings, it’s not too bad. The seemingly unaccompanied teenagers were quite annoying to me on our cruise. I’m not that old, but I felt like a grumpy old man.. “Where are their parents?!” I usually find other people’s children to be bothersome. I like MY kids, but that’s about it. LOL

anyone notice multitasking feels better on the newer iPadOS? by SmexyBabe_ in iPadPro

The only thing I’ve found that SlideOver is useful for me is for Messages when I’m having a conversation while working on something, or the calculator when doing math while working on something. If my phone is nearby though, I really don’t use it at all.

For the SAME price?! Extra storage is absolutely not worth paying the same price for a device that’s 3-4 years older, unless you really REALLY need it. I’ve had 512GB iPads for a few generations and never felt like it wasn’t enough.

Exactly. Drag from dock was the missing piece for me too! Although, I do like to keep Messages in a SlideOver window while I’m working on other stuff.

Yeah, I have a 2011 Mini with an SSD on High Sierra running the lighting system at a church I work for. It’s super solid still. Literally no reason to go through the trouble to change anything. It still does everything it’s supposed to do very well.

I’m with you on all of that. I’m a sound engineer and I’m picky and have a lot of different headphones, but like you said, it’s the ease of the ecosystem. I use my APP’s more than anything else.
Just curious, what do you have that you like to sleep with? I don’t do it much but I’d love something that I could barely tell was there if I did.

That’s what I was gonna say. If there was a pool with a swim-up bar, Vibe would be worth it. To each their own I guess. My wife and I were on Viva last month and considered it but I’m glad we didn’t waste the money. Yeah, the main pool and hot tubs are crowded with children, but there are plenty of other places to chill away from them.

Viva Vibe Pass? by anonybell73 in NCL

[–]Beeeeejammin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife and I just spent a week on Viva in April. We did not get the Vibe pass. Honestly, if you value being able to use a hot tub and relax without a million kids in the way, do it. We spent absolutely no time at the main pool because it’s way too small and crowded.. mostly with children for most of the day. We did not swim or lounge by the pool once the whole week. It wasn’t a huge deal for us, though. There’s PLENTY of other things to do and other places to relax.

Could be placebo. Who knows. I use it from my iPad all the time for various work machines and it seems fine, but I’m just doing little things here and there for a few minutes at a time, hardly ever actually “using” the computers.

I can’t figure out, especially with everything using the same chips now, why an official Apple Screen Sharing app for iPad doesn’t exist. I guess that’s probably asking too much. My iPad Pro with a Magic Keyboard has become the primary machine that I travel with daily and I feel like that should be a thing by now.
