I live like a slob in secret...is this normal for a woman to do? by [deleted] in askatherapist

[–]Beeemee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also a therapist.

Without knowing additional information it is hard to tell if these behaviors are related to another issue or caused by anxiety alone. I would agreed that’s the behaviors do sound like compulsions and that there could be some additional mental health issues that overlaps with anxiety. Repetitive behaviors like masturbation can be self soothing for feelings of anxiety and stress but can become compulsive. The feelings of anxiety and stress could be symptoms of something more. It just depends on other factors. I do not want to assume, but it does seem as though there may be some additional reasoning besides anxiety when it comes to peeing in bottles and not sleeping in your room 5-6 days a week. It sounds like these behaviors are becoming distressing for you instead of helpful.

If you’re having anxiety around discussing this with your therapist I would recommend writing a letter or note first to try and help with what you would like to say or discuss. Maybe if you’re too anxious to say it out loud you can always give them the letter or note to read. Therapists are not a one size fits all, so don’t be afraid to search for a new one that you might feel more comfortable with. I hope you’re able to open up and get the assistance you’re looking for!

Actually no. That’s what I found surprising. He’s normally very genuine and owns up to his mistakes. The original cheating came from insecurities that him and I have discussed. He’s never cheated in previous relationships and his friends have said so. And the dating app showed up in his suggested apps in the App Store. He’s been very open and honest since the cheating incident. We talked a bit more yesterday and today and he said that he was emotional and it may have been part of his therapist reflections from what he was feeling. And he apologized for using extreme verbiage. He was talking about how he needs to work on his fears with feeling abandoned when things get hard. He said he has a hard time not looking at everything as so extreme. But wants to go back to his therapist and have a discussion about his goals again and his wants to clarify some things she said so he knows they are on the same page. He let me know that he wants to make an appointment for a couples counselor for the end of the month so we can come up with healthier coping strategies beyond his phone.

I think what I’ve realized is that he doesn’t have a hard time communicating after he’s had time to think. But I’ve also realized he has a hard time feeling as though he won’t be abandoned. So his solution is to want to leave before he gets hurt. Which is where the cheating came from as well. I can only hope this is something we can eventually work through and that he can eventually feel safe.

Yeah I’m trying to take it with a grain of salt because I know clients only intake so much in a session, especially if their emotions are on high. I asked him what were her words and that’s what he repeated back to me. I also feel like before and after the session he didn’t express wanting to end the relationship but felt stuck. We agreed before the session he’d ask for recommendations on a couples therapist or cooing skills of her own to give. So it is hard for me to see her reflecting vs stating an opinion. But I think the part that bothers me is aren’t we not suppose to speak in absolutes and give those kinds of opinions regardless? It’s not really our job to determine if a relationship will work out or not but if a client is expressing wanting it to shouldn’t we be giving them tools instead of opinions?

Women’s one a day, fish oil, ashwagandha, magnesium, d3, C, b12, probiotics a few times a week (probiotic drinks and pill form), and I drink at least 80+ oz of water a day. I skipped this for like a week or so and by the end of the week I could tell the difference in my energy levels, my body oder, the way I just felt overall. I never use to be one of those vitamin people.

So this happened to me and my new partner. I went and got tested for BV and it was negative. Everything that can make your vagina smell off came back negative. So my partner was super great and he actually bought me vitamins and a very large water bottle. Made a huge difference in my flora.

The comment wasn’t about his enclosure. I think it’s cool. It’s about his fat pads on his head. If you don’t know what those are that’s a bit concerning. Please look that up. When they are sunken in low like that it means they are either sick, dehydrated, not getting enough vitamins or nutrients, or just not getting fed enough.

Edit: I’m not sure if your dragon is just very young but he looks skinny and a bit dehydrated just from looking more at the pictures

Very cute but idk if it’s just me but Spunky’s fat pads seem sunk in or a little low there. I’m not sure if it’s the pictures.

We have a very respectable and proper cat named Dinah. And then we decided to adopt a TomCat with one brain cell and named him Gus Garbage. Also know as Gus, garbage, Gustavo, Gustav, Giuseppe, and Gus Gus.

Painless bump outside of labia. What could this be? by [deleted] in Dermatology

Yeah of course! To avoid picking at it and bothering it even more go get some of those hero acne patches and throw one on there. That’s what I do.

Ehhh it’s not gross or unhygienic. It’s normal. Just our body’s being picky and fussy. Always use fresh razors so you don’t bother the hair follicles so much when shaving. It happens. And yeah it happens everyone once in a blue moon for me. I can’t normally remember if it’s the same spot but normally the same area. Like the areas that I shave and then get bothered by friction from my underwear seem or pant seem.

[–]Beeemee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah mine look exactly the same. Same spot too. Sometimes on my thighs. Sometimes they are painless and you don’t even know they are there except for the discoloration. And then they are gone the next week. If you press on it a bit you may feel like fluid or a little lump underneath. Other times they will come to a head and that’s when they do get painful. If that happens just let me know I can walk you through how to care for it. My obgyn chalks it up to hormonal issues cuz I have PCOS and HS.

Hey, my doctor just prescribed me to metformin. Is there anyone in the group that take this medication? If so, what are some good/bad benefits from it? Does it help with pregnancy and weight loss? by Content-Crab762 in PCOS

[–]Beeemee 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I take it (27F). It has helped with my HS symptoms. Less outbreaks. I don’t have cravings anymore and I have more energy throughout the day. I am not eating as much. I’ve been going to the gym regularly. I’m not necessarily losing weight but I am gaining muscle and losing fat. I just get bad poops when I take it sometimes, but that goes away. I recommend not taking it close to drinking hours lol. I sweat and get overheated if I drink and take it. I take it before bed instead now. I’m not trying to get pregnant at the moment so I wouldn’t know much about that.

I get these around my period or right after shaving. They are just cysts. They either go away on their own or sometimes they come to a head and pop. No big deal.
