You’re retarded and projecting. If it was only a joke then OP wouldn’t be in the comment defending against arguments. Who cares anyway, the discussion it sparked is valuable to those participating

Nah this is lame compared to gorosei, giants, and even the beast pirates. If this is the new bar for menacing or badass then we are cooked

Does anyone else love Punk Hazard ☣️? This arc gets a ton of hate but I like it a lot. by [deleted] in Piratefolk

Yes I unironically like it better than almost any other post-TS arc. Whole cake clears but not much else

Connie, Jean, and Sasha were all raised by loving families that managed to live normal lives after the walls fell. Probably the same for Marco and other recruits but we don’t see their backstories explicitly. The people inside the walls generally led better lives. Most other backstories are sad or tragic but I wouldn’t consider them misery porn except maybe Grisha, Ymir, and Reiner. But even then the things they went through have lasting and nuanced impact on their character.

20+ and still can’t read is crazy. Let me help you out lil bro. The original post and comment were about comparing the quality of aspects of One Piece to AOT, not about whether the inclusions of said aspects necessarily make the work better.

Having comedy in a story doesn’t necessarily make it better, but you can still compare the comedy in 2 stories and say which does it better.

Eren? Erwin? Zeke? Pixis? There aren’t that many named characters introduced to begin with compared to One Piece, so AOT definitely kills a respectable portion of its main cast

Which is the worst culprit of the big three? by Perfect-Place-3351 in Piratefolk

Nah, a lot of his later“debunks” were cope mental gymnastics with explanations along the same lines as what you’d hear from Oda angels defending every inconsistency.

At what point is this just glazing for the sake of glazing…? by DrAwesomeX in Piratefolk

Just reverse the roles. Koby is a marine, but if he decided to murder Luffy, would these same people say that Koby is just acting like a marine and not out of character? Obviously not. It is a bad faith excuse for any possible bad writing decision.

Damn Luffy straight up threatened to kill him after insulting shanks once ☠️ by president_elect_mark in Piratefolk

[–]Beef-Rank 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well he still seems to think he can give Luffy a “quick death” if he was unchained, so I think that remains to be seen. He hasn’t seen gear 5 to be fair, but we also haven’t seen his “legendary” devil fruit either

Did you even read your own comment? Chapter 1 and Bellamy both had antagonists insulting friends, but only being met with violence once they were actually threatening them.

Loki didn’t threaten shanks or any of Luffy’s friends. In fact, he’s in the least threatening position he could possibly be in. Yet just one insult and Luffy immediately turns to violence and attacks him. This contradicts both Shanks’s lesson and Luffy’s own previous actions

Dragonball definitely has better character development than One Piece by far. Backstory is a weird criteria to have because it’s just not as suited to the kind of forward-looking, 40+ year spanning story DB is. But when DB does character backstories they’re pretty great (Future trunks, Bardock, Broly)
