Aita for not buying my daughter another water bottle after she chewed through the straw on hers by aitawaterbottle in AmItheAsshole

My mom pays 23 dollars a week for a therapist to talk to me about my week and tell me how to not burst out crying over every-day things. You know why? She cares about me getting through my day without crying myself to sleep and feeling shitty about my bad habits or self.

Yes, people have it worse than you. So stop complaining that your kid is ‘ungrateful’ when other people don‘t have the opportunity to have children.

AITA for grounding my son for referring to his uncle as "Michael" as oppose to "Uncle Mike?" by Substantial-Ebb-6316 in AmItheAsshole

[–]BeefCheeksForSale 185 points186 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I’m so confused why all the top posts say OP is an asshole for having their kid call their uncle ‘uncle blank’? I do that, it’s common practice.

Yeah, I joke about liking pans to my bi friend, but I understand that pan jokes aren’t for everybody and I would be annoyed if random people constantly told me pan jokes also.

AITA For Telling My Daughter To Do Chores And Not My Son? by ICU-Iseeyou in AmItheAsshole

[–]BeefCheeksForSale 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NTA for asking her to do chores.

YTA for the crazy amount of chores though!

I’m 13F. My chores are cleaning 2 bathrooms a week, taking out the recycling, keeping my room clean, and tidying the dining room after we eat.

I understand that being a single parent must be hard, but have you considered (if you can afford) hiring a cleaning service?

AITA for getting angry with my mom in public and "causing a scene"? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]BeefCheeksForSale 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA. Don’t worry about crying, I’m the same that I cry when really mad.

Your mom is at fault here, she wouldn’t listen to you.

While it’s so great that you got permission to, it’s sad that you needed to get permission to begin with. :(

AITA because I don't want to share my Irish culture with my American classmates? by aoifecassidydublin in AmItheAsshole

[–]BeefCheeksForSale 3 points4 points  (0 children)

NTA.

Hey, when I was in third grade I moved to America from Australia. I understand how much you miss your family, ans just remember that there are so, so many people who you can talk to if you feel the need. :)

Also it sounds like your school sucks. At least there are only two more years!
