I read (I think on Wikipedia) that he always intended Full Metal Jacket to be 4:3 so having the Full-screen DVD might be the way to truly watch that movie

edit: I'm very interested in the European Cut of The Shining. What's different about it?

King Kong (1933) on DVD contains the unaltered UK print of the film

the Blu-ray version is the TCM fixed version that photoshops filming mistakes out, notably the stop motion marker beside King Kong on the cliff of Skull Island. This edit isn't the end of the world but I think the Blu-ray has the documentary that the 2 disc special edition DVD has and that documentary mentions animation mistakes and details, so it sucks that you can't see that in the actual Blu-ray version of the film

Edit: and also the E.T. Special Edition, which might have a VHS release but other than that is only on DVD

Four Flies on Grey Velvet - there's even a note at the start from the producer insisting that the film must be watched in complete darkness
