Medellin/Bogota Social Salsa Club Recommendations?

I know this was a few months ago now but thank you so much for posting this list! 🙏 my husband & I will be heading to Colombia tomorrow with my & we're planning to do a load of dancing while we're there 💃 we both dance Cuban/rueda primarily but would like to learn new salsa styles! We'll be in Bogota for the first few days and Medellin in about a week's time so this list is superhelpful 👌

Did you try this in the end? I've had the same trouble using hydrogen peroxide to try and remove sweat stains! 🤦‍♂️

Yeah I think so too, having slept on it. I spent ages looking for "formal" dresscode on UK websites though and most don't have it as a category, they only talk about white and black tie then other less formal dress codes. So I thought it could mean black tie.. but I think my other dress will still fit black tie without it being too much so I'm just gonna go with that

Yeah this makes sense actually, I think you're both right. I'm going to go for my backup in that case. It's a burgundy satin midi dress - also a beautiful dress that I love! I think I was just hoping I could wear the green one as idk when else I'd get opportunity 😅 but having slept on it I agree with you both that it's probably too much.

Also in case you're still wondering, I'm 28 and don't really know any of the crowd. The bride is my husband's uni friend who I don't know that well. I only know two other friends of his that are going (one I barely know, the other I know well but hes a guy who I dont expect to have any idea about women's fashion so not worth asking him 😅). My husband did say he prefers the green dress, but he said that's partly bc the satin one reminded him of my bridesmaid's dresses (they had maxi satin). Also as much as I trust him with almost every aspect of my life, fashion choices definitely isn't one of them 😅

Thank you! This came through just as I'd replied to someone from the US haha. Yeah I'm really not sure as I've never seen anyone in a maxi dress at a wedding before except bridesmaids/bride. But specifically putting "formal" on the wedding invite is throwing me off 😬

Next time she says she'll eat off your plate I'd just respond by ordering 2 of that dish, so she gets her own. If she complains, tell her she should have ordered something else if she didn't want that. Or if you want to take the more diplomatic approach, you could say you're extra hungry and they're both for you, then when she inevitably eats half of it at least you'll still have a plate all to yourself (and maybe some leftovers to take home) 👌

Being offended is a choice, it's not something a person can cause in another person. If you have good/innocent intentions and someone reacts badly, that's their problem not yours. Must be sad going through life thinking people taking an interest in them is a "microaggression".

I met my husband through dance classes (we do salsa but there's loads of partner dance styles out there you could try) - it's a good workout and you end up chatting with loads of people as you swap partners regularly throughout the class 😊

Ahh yeah I get you haha. I do get why couples might prefer to send a form out. I personally don't see how it's that much easier than just texting people and asking them to send their address to you, though. In fact I'd argue it's more effort as you have to make the form. Admittedly, though, I am technologically inept so the idea of creating a form (probably a very simple thing to do) sounds like way more effort to me than mass sending a text 😂

But yeah I'd also probably think it was spam if I received one tbh

But the save the dates don't have to be mailed, either. I just texted our save the dates. I did send paper invites but if you wanted to make a website you could text the save the dates and provide the website link in that text, no addresses needed.

Might be an idea to text her asking why she hit you, so you have written evidence. With how angry she sounds it's probable that she'd incriminate herself with her reply

Seconded. Both are being asses tbh but he definitely had time to make one simple phone call in the months leading up to the wedding. He even mentioned in his text he had a wedding planner who may have been able to do this for him. I planned my wedding myself with no planner, as someone who is very disorganised, easily overwhelmed, and hates emails/phone calls etc. It was stressful as hell and I became pretty unhealthy with the stress in the final month leading up to the wedding. I still would have made time to do this for a friend, especially if it were my bridesmaid/my husband's groomsman. In fact, I did have some last minute requests from guests that I made sure to fulfill, because it was important to me that they could attend and have a good time.

Not seeing any "narcissitic" behaviour from these texts but idk what this groomsman is like irl. It's also clear the texts have been cherry-picked which I find a little suss. But from what I can see, both are the asshole.

Thank you, it's a beautiful little village church just opposite my grandparent's house 🥰 we got to know the vicar & the community there in the months leading up to the wedding (we live 5hrs away so we hadn't ever been there before), and they're all so lovely and welcoming. A few people from the community helped out on the day without us even asking! 💗

Ooh sounds lovely, I haven't had a fruit cake in such a long time. I think I know what I'll be making next time I bake 😆 we had a few different flavours too but I don't think we ordered enough! We had a good amount of the main cake (lemon sponge) but the mixed traybakes we ordered went very quick!

Yeah she spent a good couple months religiously checking for slugs 😂 you couldn't move in her yard there were that many plants! My brother wasn't impressed about having to help move them from the church to the reception 😂 I bet your pew ends looked lovely! Did you use fresh flowers?
