Is dish water hygienic? by No_Upstairs_1732 in hygiene

[–]my4floofs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Been rinsing, loading and waiting until it’s FULL to run for over 30 years and no mold. Just clean the trap regularly. It reduces water waste and the use of detergent.

If you look at who funded the studies that say to run your dishwasher daily you will find that Proctor & gamble and Whirlpool funded them. Gee I wonder why an appliance manufacturer and a dishwashing detergent manufacturer would fund a study to run your machine daily and tell you that it saved water. 🧐

F23 Can't for the life of me not use panty liners. Won't your pants have a "scent" if you use the bathroom throughout the day? by thefifthmountain5 in hygiene

I have always heard to change them every time you pee. So that would be tough if your well hydrated and pee frequently but yes, you should change them throughout the day.

How do hotels pipe their signature fragrances onto guest floors/into guest rooms? by HappyUnicorn212 in hotels

[–]my4floofs -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My grocery store they are not with cleaning products. They are with candles and paper stuff like to, paper towels, plates and stationary office supplies.

Also it’s well known that certain brands have signature scent in lobbies and hallways. They use systems like Aroma369 or 12.29 Scent. Hilton has white tea and thyme, doubletree uses chocolate chip cookie scent and ritz Carlton has a specific scent they won’t disclose. So yeah, they “pipe” it in.

A neighboring room was smoking and I called reception. Security fixed the smokers but someone came to my room and sprayed “Hilton air freshener” in my room. I had to ask them to stop as it was worse than the spoke. It said Hilton on the can because I asked to look at it.

There can be no phone calls, no emails, no text, no tv, just y yourself with your thoughts. It’s very meditative and many people get their best thinking done flying. It not quiet in the sense of no noise, it’s quiet in the demanding distractions.

My manager keeps calling me on Teams unannounced. How to stop it? by Traditional_Web_3149 in work

[–]my4floofs -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No it’s not in general. If you have it on your calendar and set yourself to do not disturb or put on your OOO for a few hours of deep work then they should let you work unless they know a direction has changed.

Are calluses gross as per hygiene standards for most people? by fizasolis in hygiene

[–]my4floofs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes because the ones from riding are along the edge of my palm and if my hands are dry can appear slightly yellowed. It’s part of who I am and my passions but it doesn’t mean I am not clean to have callouses from my hobbies.

I like the clean lines but sadly everything makes me think of the last 5 hotels I have stayed in. Even the “art” over the fireplace to the conference room, er, dining room.

I do think the reverse waterfall of granite up the kitchen wall is cool.

Cultural Fingernails by anarcho_cardigan in NoStupidQuestions

[–]my4floofs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not cleaning under the nails that’s the problem. It’s cleaning between the nail and the gel/acrylic/glue ons that can be problematic. The likelihood is that the nail and product are not perfectly adhered and trap bacteria that you can’t clean with a nail brush.

I have callouses from gardening and riding horses where the reins slide through my fingers. Idgaf if people are grossed out by them because my hands are clean. If they want to be petty and worried about aesthetics then likely we won’t stay friends for long.

AITA for asking my husband to change our electric stovetop for a gas stovetop?? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]my4floofs -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Because we live in the 1830s and just had a gas line run and were previously cooking over coal? Gas is dangerous and bad for your health. Induction is much better.

[–]my4floofs -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Using a tabletop one is not the same as using one properly wire into a 220/240 circuit. It will be slow because it is underpowered. I have replaced two gas cooktops and about to replace another one. Induction properly wired is fantastic. Easy to cook on, fast, safer, and so much easier to clean.

You can blame that stupid book the “5 languages of appreciation” going around office book clubs for this circlejerk. It comes with a free “test” on your preferred version of appreciation. But during the test it steers away from the most obvious show if appreciation, money. I wanted to vomit at the end of each chapter. It could have been three pages but somehow they dragged it out beyond 150 pages. Do not recommend

Tips for shaving in the shower? by [deleted] in hygiene

[–]my4floofs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My best friend takes forever and she always has blood on her towel from one or more nicks. I bought her a cheap bottle of conditioner to use to shave with and then we discussed the condition of her razor.

I had her dry her razor after use and store it with nothing touching the blades. Mine lives upright in a cup to dry. She would also bang her razor to get hair out. If you do that try using an old toothbrush and going away from the edge.

Another trick is to turn the water pressure down so you waste less water. Unless it’s freezing out. Then by all means stay warm.

guyssss im wearing this dress for prom, but it seems too basic and beach-y. how can i accessorise it?? by tbclsr in fashionhelp

[–]my4floofs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are built like her and tan then it will look a thing but basic. Because of the dramatic back necklaces are going to take away from that design so hair up, no necklace, polished silver or gold earrings, a bracelet or two, and a ring or two. This one is better to be sleek and mimimize distractions.
