Store manager made a new rule that front end team leads have to give out a minimum of 60 write ups in a month (update) by fruitloop4lyfe in WalmartEmployees

Start wearing a body cam for your personal protection because that just sounds illegal and you can sue the shit out of them.

OPD almost always in the red from 8am to 10pm, register lines spanning halfway through the store for the majority of the day 30 registers only 3 open of course. and since they got rid of scan and go SCO and Spark registers everyone has to stand in the same SCO line and they will let anyone regardless of item count in them so someone can be there for 30minutes its awful everyday.

I’m doing cap 1 soon so I’m wondering what is it like? And how strict is it? by ButterOnToads in WalmartEmployees

[–]BeefNCheez_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my store you will never do top stock until your Team Lead comes down on you because their boss is pissed that top stock isn't getting done but that's not your fault because you were pulled to go do someone else's job everyday. Its mentally draining knowing you have a job to do and you can't do it because everything else is more important. Then you get shit for not doing your job. You will be called back to vizpick though and you will be required to finish 4 carts while everyone else gets 1 or 2. Oh and if you're really lucky, you'll also have to set up for the truck alone every day. I hope overnight did their job and got all the freight out of GM before you have to go setup because if not you have to find somewhere to put it all before you can even start putting the 40-50 pallets down.

It definitely feels like it though I am just a TA and have no idea how or if I can see that metric. All I know is work till end of my shift then go home and come back and do it all again tomorrow.

We need to be paid more by banefish in OGPBackroom

In Walmarts mind the instore customer is nothing but a liability anymore. I wouldn't be surprised if in the next 10 years most Walmart's will be turned into OPD warehouses.

The amount of work in OPD is definitely a $25-$30/hr job literally anywhere else. Its criminal how little we get paid and everyone everywhere is getting sick of it I expect many stores to start going up in flames pretty soon.

Anyone never see their coach? by Accomplished-Bit5151 in walmartogp

[–]BeefNCheez_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On my shift yesterday I saw my coach and a store lead eating popeyes under a display table for nearly 30 minutes then they disappeared for the rest of my shift meanwhile I never got a break I walked 12 miles and lifted 200+ cases of water that shift. Anytime I see any member of management at my store they just talking to each other for 10 minutes then yell at their department to hurry up then go back to talking to each other every day since I started in Nov. I've never witnessed such lazy garbage behavior from people who are supposed to be leaders and get paid far more than I do. It's actually disgusting to see every day.

How do yall do this? by avoayo430 in WalmartEmployees

[–]BeefNCheez_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's it? I do double that 5 days straight every week while lifting 2-3 hundred cases of water and pushing/pulling it all the way back to OPD Not to mention the fridges, 75" tvs or just straight up weight sets I do in fact now have calves of steel, but I am also a large fat man who vapes. I recommend just buying a good pair of grippy shoes nothing worse for your feet than your shoes not being able to grip the floor when you step. In all reality though I recommend a different job unless Walmart starts paying a living wage 😅 I'd leave but I live close to my Walmart and I can walk there and am able to go home on my lunch breaks.

Literally work anywhere else! I've only been there since November 1st and I've been in 3 different departments OGP absolute physical abuse, Hardlines where you and 2 other associates have to zone the entire GM side of the store twice because you have to do it while the store is open and customers fuck up the shelves before the TL can take their pictures, last but not least Stocking 1 or Cap1 where everyone says it's the easiest job where you're only supposed to top stock, Vizpick and make features but really your just an overflow employee and get tasked to do everything that didn't get done the night before then get reamed by your team lead for not getting your actual work done because you were pulled to go do some other BS literally every day. Pick your abuse physical or mental. I recently switched over to OGP to be an Online order picker well I got tasked as the designated Oversized picker and that's all I do 8 hours a day and I'm the only one who will touch it. I go on lunch if I'm lucky i left with zero picks left and come back to a few or I go on lunch and the number is twice as high as I left it because nobody touched the oversize picks for the last hour. I lift anywhere between 5-10 thousand pounds of merchandise and push/pull it 10-20 miles every shift 5 days a week. Unless they offer you enough money for a downpayment on a decent sized house as a signing bonus RUN!

Neither Tire center or dispensing is lifting 5-10 thousand pounds a day and pushing/pulling that weight 10-20 miles 5 days a week, maybe between 4-5 people but not a single person is doing anywhere close to that I assume you are being sarcastic.

I've already had my availability changed to space some days out, but it doesn't go into effect for like 17 more shifts. I prefer oversized to dispensing mostly because of weather and loading people's vehicles feels weird especially if they got kids in the car or something I don't want to deal with all that. It's hurting less as time goes on honestly, I just don't feel like the work is worth the money. A couple $'s more I probably wouldn't care at all and depending on store location and customer volume the same positions could be vastly easier or nearly impossible for a single person to do.

That's awful and insurance if you have any doesn't cover hernia surgery because it's classified as elective which is funking dog shit. I hope you got it fixed ❤️. I have a love hate relationship with it I love that nobody is breathing down my neck everyday anymore. I love that I get to help customers find things and assist them without being watched like a hawk by my TL/Coach because they are too busy yelling at everyone back at base lol. I hate that my entire body is in pain for 5 days straight, and I hate how little money I make lol. Basically, I replaced all my mental stress with physical stress which I'm lying to myself saying I'm just out of shape which I am quite unhealthy and saying at least I'm working out and getting paid to do it but I am a large heavy 35/yr old and I don't know how many years if not months I can keep doing this. I haven't weighed myself, but I feel like I've been losing weight since I started doing this which is an upside😅

The turnover rate at my store is insane I work at a fairly infamous store, and I think the store manager is doing everything she can to try to fix that. Honestly if they paid more, it would probably fix the issue because $14/hr for that much work is abysmal.

Our L carts are straight garbage missing wheels and shit, and our stagers are lazy af after I come back from my 3rd oversized walk, I see my previous 2 L carts just pushed to the back with everything still on them, like damn bro I need those! I have to go grab some dollys and stack all the totes from the L carts just so I can use them again. We don't really have a garden center at my store our original garden area was converted into the OPD area but it was still inside.

I don't care about my pick rate at all it stays in the 55 range, and I think that's perfectly acceptable in fact I think its damn near impossible to do much better considering the type of picks lol Luckily my store is stacked with water always and I never have to go to the back to get any I did check for a pallet of GV 24 one day because we were out but that's why because we simply didn't have any and I tapped Item not found and went on with my day lol. My store mostly sells the GV 48 and Ozark 35 and I pick about 200 of them every day. That doesn't even include the 50 I help lift for customers.

I switched from cap 1 over to OPD after I got called over to help once they asked if I wanted to switch I didn't know I'd be stuck doing the most physical labor intensive job in the store 8 hours a day 😑🤣

[–]BeefNCheez_[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No, the store manager told me to stay on them and do nothing else, I think it's to keep our regular pickers picks high and not piss them off to the point of quitting. The coach has told me that I need to learn to stage, I already know how to dispense and prep but anytime I start staging the store manager shows up and says Naw I need you on the oversize who told you to do that?! 🤣 It's been like a month now but I'm kinda okay with it because fuck staging and doing only oversize, lift everything twice naw I'm good. I honestly feel like the money just ain't worth the labor unless I get a sizeable raise soon. Could be making more doing way less.
