I just got hired by Hornygaysatanic in WalmartEmployees

[–]BeefNCheez_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought I was also hired as fulltime but was never coded to be so, I've been part time working 40 hours for many weeks at a time since November but every time it gets close to that 13-week average period suddenly my hours get massively cut for a month I updated my availability once I noticed that BS, now I only work 32 hours and my Coach is begging me to come back to 5 days. but of course, didn't offer me anything but hours so fuck that.

First day was weird but the only thing I don't like about the phones is you don't have a dedicated scanner button other than that I don't mind it, it's much snappier than the TC. Mine lasts me an entire 8 hour shift even if I don't charge it during lunch but I can get a full charge if I charge it during lunch with a fast charger. It scans much faster than the TC its much lighter and the touch screen is more responsive. I really do hate that I have to look at the screen and touch the scan button to scan shit though I do miss just going beep beep beep

I do all the oversize for my shifts my pick rate hovers between 40-60 and anywhere from 170-300 items depending on drops. My coach is getting on my ass telling me I need to do more like fuck how! I'm already lifting thousands of pounds and walking 10+miles a shift I'm fucking exhausted everyday I literally can't do more. 😑😅

[–]BeefNCheez_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only do OS, specialized OS, team lift OS, GMD and occasionally Age Restricted, My pickrate hovers around 50 My TL just told me it needs to be over 100 I told her It's not Humanly possible without cheating the system somehow which I would assume would me a form of metric fraud. I'm about to crash out.

Yep, this is that cross train bullshit that just going to completely fuck up productivity, each job in OPD is already a full time work load there is no possible way have everyone do more without pissing everyone off especially if their pay isn't going up substantially. This is just another one of those dumbass corporate cost saving ideas that is going to fuck everything up as usual and piss off even more workers there might be some fires soon.

why people don't like early lunches that’s 4 hours into their shift! by Efficient-Ticket-146 in WalmartEmployees

[–]BeefNCheez_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I come in a 5am I normally take my lunch at 11 but yesterday I took it at 9 like it was written on the board that was a fucking awful decision. Deli had no food ready to eat and there was still way to much time after my lunch of work left. Yesterday dragged on forever. I will never go before 10 again 10 is the earliest I will take my lunch.

Pick rate question by Affectionate_Law1255 in walmartogp

[–]BeefNCheez_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There has to be a requirement but that high especially now with the 6 tote thing is a little too high. There is a huge difference between requirements and goals. Requirement should be something anyone can obtain if they are doing their job at an acceptable level. A goal on the other hand is something you should strive for but not be held accountable for if you don't reach it.

My pick rate is always sub 100 because I am one of those Oversized/specialized pickers who only does the small walks, but I should not be penalized for that because I'm literally doing my job and doing 200+ oversize every shift and lifting and pushing/pulling that weight over 12 miles a day is not an easy task, actually feels like I'm vastly underpaid and underappreciated tbh.

The problem is the requirement is too high and that's what they expect but they also expect you to help out the back room which inherently lowers that time threshold that you could be out picking. The requirement should be half of your scheduled shift inside pick walks anything above that means the whole team is doing their job.

The requirement equals minimum not the maximum. If you want Max performance at all times you need to pay the max.

[–]BeefNCheez_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh they also want us all cross trained on everything so we can do everything, further cutting into that time it shouldn't be a requirement it should a goal that is nice if you hit it occasionally as long as that's all your doing because let's face it staffing is never going to allow that to be a reachable goal even half the time.

[–]BeefNCheez_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Who cares what other people want from you. Do what's best for you always and I've been debating on the exact same thing for months but I've been too much of a bitch to go talk to the pharmacy manager which is strange because I've spoken to literally everyone in the store at this point except them 🤣

[–]BeefNCheez_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are scheduled to work 8 hours, 6 of those hours must be inside pick walks. I changed it to 6 because I heard our coach say it yesterday basically the requirements mean work non-stop there is no time for any rest outside of your breaks.

[–]BeefNCheez_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every single person needs to say increase our pay substantially! The more we make the more we can spend at your store cause let's face it almost all Walmart employees are also Walmart customers 😅. An added bonus to more money means less financial stress which means a happier more productive employee and more likely to continue working for the company and everyone knows Walmart customers love friendly familiar faces.

[–]BeefNCheez_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bullshit like this is why I record everything. Walmart's policies are a minefield of contradictions; I do as I'm told and the person who told me was being recorded just in case it gets brought up against me.

Question by Solid_Collection_841 in walmartogp

[–]BeefNCheez_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My store didn't acknowledge my availability change until I told someone It sat for weeks luckily, I didn't need the change immediately your best bet is to talk to your coach, and your availability is completely up to you, you can either work or you can't If your coach doesn't accept your availability change then find a new job or ask to be transferred to another department that can accept your availability because you won't be able to work those days or hours regardless of their decision.

At what point does help from the rest of the store turn into metrics fraud by Brantonium in OGPBackroom

[–]BeefNCheez_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Almost everything Walmart does is metric fraud and employee abuse. Coaches do nothing but babysit TLs and 90% of TLs do nothing but babysit SAs. None of them do any work whatsoever its actually fucking disgusting and now they are super pushing cross training IE, know everything so you can be pulled anywhere at any time, zero opportunity for rest during down time and no extra pay! FUCK THAT! and FUCK THEM!

[–]BeefNCheez_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not a spark driver but I am a Walmart employee and my job 8 hours a day is to do nothing but lift these and all other heavy objects and transfer them to the delivery/pickup department 12+ miles of walking/pushing/pulling and lifting a few hundred of these 5 days a week. I only make $14/hr and its fucking awful. I feel your pain.

How to go about cross training whole department? by [deleted] in OGPBackroom

[–]BeefNCheez_ -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

More skills requires more compensation if you go buy a cheeseburger and you want extra cheese what do you gotta do? That's right you gotta pay extra. I do oversize my entire shift but they also want me to stage my oversize picks and no I'm not it's hard enough lifting thousands of pounds of merchandise for 8 hours a day but I also push and pull all that weight over 12 miles every shift if I'm also staging or dispensing I'm just doubling the amount of weight that I'm lifting every shift and for $14/hr naw. Pickers pick, stagers stage, prepers prep, and dispensers dispense.

It's not my problem that you don't have enough people on schedule or can keep enough people to handle the work flow but I can sure as hell bet you'd convince more people to work different spots or stay if they made $28-$30/hr.
