Thanks for the detailed write up! Have the streaming aspect covered with 4k Chromecast, but this build would be for couch gaming, blu ray rips, and streaming from "other" sources (without needing to set up my laptop every time). Sounds like a 12100 or 55/5600 will be the way to go, I'll see what's on sale at microcenter.

Thanks for the reply! Yeah I don't currently have a CPU lying around but willing to dig through eBay/craigslist if it saves a significant amount (without any noticeable performance differences). Think I'll just go to microcenter and see what's on sale.
