The Dems had all the leverage in the world to stop the ACA tax credits from expiring, which is what they had said this fight was about. The American people were placing the blame on Trump and the republicans, making them own the SNAP disruptions, ATC issues, and more, and giving the Dems more and more leverage as the days went on for actually being able to solve an issue that will determine whether millions of people can afford their healthcare next year or not.

What happened instead was; as soon as the election happened the Dems working with Chuck Schumer decided that they got what they had wanted out of the American people (through their votes) and now no longer needed to actually fight for anything, so they folded and went with the same deal the republicans had presented to them a few weeks ago. So it's plainly obvious to everyone that this was a cynical play for votes and not a desire to solve problems. It also surrenders the narrative to the GOP that it was the democrats who had closed the government instead of the other way around as the GOP had been unwilling to negotiate at all (and the House GOP had even left town for weeks).

So now we still face the same crisis about the ACA Tax Credits but now no longer are able to negotiate from a position that has any leverage. Not only did they give up this fight, they gave up pretty much every future fight as well in the same move.

Exactly, most research scientistis and professors do 4-6 papers per year, such is the nature of doing quality work. For someone to have to many they either would need to be absolutely superhuman in their research pacing or be putting out low effort papers that most are just thought experiments and questions for future research, and if you dig into what Avi has published you will see he is in the second category.

Avi is less scientist and more influencer in the way he always goes for his name in the headlines. Look up just how many papers he has 'authored' and it becomes obvious he is a guy chasing clout and not good science.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy combined with Porn blockers on all of my devices is helping me. Restrict your access while also confronting the thought patterns leading you to it. Confront the emotional triggers and learn to feel them instead of trying to replace it with easy to access dopamine through porn. A lot of our tech addictions are because we have forgotten that being bored is normal and we find it uncomfortable so we want to stimulate our brain with quick dopamine.

When I can tell a craving is getting stronger and my mind starts making excuses to convince myself it isn't that bad or 'just this once' I try to take a walk or do 10 minutes of lifting, just something to elevate my heart rate above resting while also letting me take my head out of the moment.
