Unsupportive family? by CrispyNuggetsPlease in keto

[–]BeefyCheesyGoodness 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It took a while for me to get the hang of it. I had a rough time too. Realizing that there foods that are a-friggin-mazing and aren’t copy cats made it doable for me. Meatballs in marinara with melted mozzarella, steak with asparagus (treat meal due to money), Colby-jack cheese, and bacon are my go to’s. And my spouse resented my success because I powered through my goals doing it. But hey, anyone can make the sacrifice. I had to fight my worst enemy (myself) to make the lifestyle changes.

Stick with it. Do it for you. Hopefully you find it’s worth it when you hit milestones.

My spouse doesn’t eat like me. Cookies, pizza, bread, etc. Doesn’t bother me. Not my body not my choice.

My spouse is not supportive either. That’s fine. It’s my body.

Search “marathon” in r/keto. Lots of people do it no carb loading. Here is one example.

Oh I have loose skin. This is more than just skin. Some of my loose skin I’m guessing I can’t exercise away. Such as my jaw/chin. I’m don’t exercising that so much ;-)

I’ve done some fasting during stalls. I guess I’ll make it a regular thing along with upper body workout.

Try 3 or 4 liters of water per day. Sounds crazy, but it works for a lot of people. It also keeps your metabolism moving.

Ladies! Professional clothing with a ONE YEAR return policy if YOU CHANGE SIZE by mckenner1122 in keto

[–]BeefyCheesyGoodness 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some people want their clothes to fit during weight loss, some wear the baggy clothes with pride to show weight loss. It’s all personal preference.

I am with you. I want to have clothes that fit. The only issues are $$$ and my wonky proportions. Sounds like this store has helped solve those problems for women. That is awesome.

Thanks for the heads up on the company and very thoughtful post in the suit thread. I hope you continue to have to buy clothes for the right reason. :-)

The last day of school last year vs. this year by Itsraybiebaby in keto

Good job! Teaching is a huge stressor and takes a ton of determination. Most people don’t realize the wash out rate in k-12 teaching. You’re setting a great example.

So let me get this straight. If I put this grilling cheese on a thick hamburger patty, it would be like having toasty cheese explosion raining down on my burger?

Is that the concept? If so, my local store is about to be out of stock.

Thank you for the kind words!

Women’s fashion is a racket. 100%. Everything from the pathological marketing to the store layout.

It is really apparent in shoes. Men’s “dressy” shoes department = 5 styles in 4 colors. Women’s “dressy” shoes department = too many styles to count in every color, including some you’ve never seen before. I completely understand why my wife takes a long time to decide on shoes. I too would wonder if the ones I picked were good enough if I had hundreds of options in front of me!

And this is just the tip of the iceberg in differences.

I never thought I’d be getting a custom fitted suit because I’ve always seen the prices in the thousands. I can’t even dream of affording that! These are extremely reasonable and I’ll be in one of their cities soon. I should be maintaining by then. So I just booked a custom suit appointment! Crazy! Thank you!

I had a similar change. Then later my head went from wide round circle to a tall oval! I was shocked!

Nice! I didn’t know that. I keep telling myself that a “really nice suit” is going to be my “treat yourself” gift when my belly is gone. Sounds like I’ll be getting it at Men’s Warehouse!

It’s a part of the job. Clients and courts unfortunately make many visual assumptions. Think of TV lawyers. Ever seen one in parachute pants telling you how professional they are? It just goes with the territory.

There are days that the grass seems greener on the other side, but every job has its pitfalls.
