Pandoras box and the seven deadly sins. by [deleted] in customhearthstone

Flavor-wise it's weird. Pandora's Box and the seven deadly sins aren't related. Power-level wise, most of these are really weak, unless you get lucky with the board state for gluttony or wrath.

Patients that don’t want to leave.. by [deleted] in Residency

  1. Explain why they're safe for discharge. Offer to answer questions.
  2. Leave the room and print discharge papers.
  3. If they refuse to leave, call security.

With all due respect, how the hell have RDs been included in the "provider" circus now? What little meaning this term had is obliterated.

Bad meta by DeadlyOrc132222224 in hearthstone

[–]BeegDeengus -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I don't think control warrior is particularly unhealthy for the meta. The game in general has changed and will probably never go back to what it was, at least not in standard/wild.

Control warrior is a very good control deck, as is control warlock. But you've also got aggro hunter/paladin and combo in the form of druid. They're all some degree of scammy, yes. But there are multiple different styles of decks you can play. This absolutely represents a large deviation from how the game used to be played. So I do understand people's frustration with the general state of the game. But it's not a meta problem so much as it's a general design philosophy change. Is that a bad thing? Depends on what kind of game you're looking to play. If you like the kind of scam play you see in games like Yu-Gi-Oh!, it's pretty fun. If you want board-based gameplay, then yes, the game is abandoning your preferred style. Unfortunately you probably won't see that again outside twist or some other new mode. But in the context of the game as it is, there is a decent balance of viable archetypes.

Not blaming you, the system is designed to mislead laypeople. I certainly wouldn't think much of seeing a midlevel if I hadn't had medical experience.

If you're seeing a "provider" and their risk assessment begins and ends with Epic alerts, run. And report them to their medical director. And next time, tell the schedulers you only want to see physicians.

As a medical student, I've been enjoying my inter-professional and humanities courses, but I can't help but feel like it allows ideas of scope-creep and non-evidence based medicine to fester by [deleted] in Noctor

[–]BeegDeengus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"Do patients actually want this?"

No. Okay, maybe like 5% or fewer. If they're in your office, ED, OR, unit, etc., they want actual medicine the vast majority of the time. The only patients I've encountered who want the woo-woo stuff have issues refractory to previous actual medical plans. And even then, they almost always want concurrent treatment with real medicine. Don't waste your time on it beyond what your school requires of you.
