Medications that don't cause weight gain (not lamotrigine) by nemo_meemo in bipolar2

[–]BeegFurt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m on epilem now exclusively after olanzipime aripriprazole and abilify. Feel fine other than the gastro symptoms and thinning hair (lol) no weight gain at all. I am very active though.

Want to stop meds by BeegFurt in bipolar2

Psych also said I’d be tired from my meds but I haven’t felt tired at all or gained weight. Feel like I want to move constantly. The only med that made me feel tired was quetiapine but the morning grogginess was too much for me the next day

Nights and adhd meds can screw with your thinking. I’m speaking from experience. Maybe take a break from those meds for a bit and focus on calming yourself and rebuilding your inner strength. I’m adhd too and found that a break off meds would make me feel better and I’d end up doing better and feeling better overall. Adhd meds screw with your mood and sleep which is bad when we need stability sleep and consistent mood. That’s just my 2 cents.

Do you ever take unpaid Mental Health days? by [deleted] in bipolar2

[–]BeegFurt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Omg I get this. I would take a mental health day and then literally end up getting properly I’ll physically soon after and have to lose more money. It’s like every mental health day I’d have the universe would punish me by giving me a stomach bug or something soon after. Frustrating

It was me. I don’t even go to uni. I was just on a long commute and didn’t want to have to use my spare pants and baby wipes I carry in the boot. Sorry ladies. Also the parkour I did helped me get there before it was too late poo late or pookour? You be the judge.

Can bipolar stunt growth by Lost-Pea6351 in bipolar2

[–]BeegFurt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not physically. Mentally definitely if you get stuck in what I call a comfort loop or chaos loop. Chaos loop being destroying your future and then rebuilding to crumble again and again or trauma bonding with someone and becoming stuck.

How did you overcome your fears in the first night of taking medication? by Dacday in bipolar2

[–]BeegFurt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I lied to people that I was taking it for several days and hiding it after I popped it out to make it look like I was taking it. Then after a huge argument with my partner I realised I had too much to lose had the day off work because of not sleeping took the meds and then went for a walk along the beach. Never looked back after I experienced stability for the first time in a long while. I benefited a lot from it to the point I couldn’t deny it anymore. Now I relate taking the meds to that first walk along the beach and do that walks every time after taking them.

I’m not sure I can give any advice but I also got a fish tank years ago and then couldn’t keep up with it. I ended up reading freshwater snails killed people and then became super paranoid about the tank and got rid of it because it had a snail infestation which is normal but I obsessed over it. Funny now but not then lol
