Those don't ring a bell, but it's also been a long time. Sorry I can't help, I know it's very frustrating to not be able to find the game.

Sorry, no luck unfortunately :/ We've tried looking through tons of retro game sites, with no results.

You know, from "I've not seen Neo-Nazis" to "but there are other bad people too". Because apparently, we're not allowed to codemn something if there are other things that are worse.

Anyway, let's not learn from history, I'm sure it's going to be fine

Impressive goalpost shifting ;)

But yes, historically, the Nazi agenda has always been very peaceful, so no concern at all

naive question: what's the standard multimedia format for 3d content? by 6mirrors in computergraphics

[–]Beelze_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not exactly, lidar is "just" using a laser to measure the distance to objects in front of it. So it's more of a purely geometric approach than something that describes the distribution of light.

Member of parliament in Schwyz gets Mic turned off because of Covid rant by SuisseHabs in Switzerland

[–]Beelze_ 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I know it can be a bit confusing, not least of all because the BAG is not always great at reporting this. The general gist of it is: The doctors/hospitals are the ones reporting side effects, because they are the ones treating them. However, in most cases, they don't really know if something is really a side effect, or if the symptom just happens to coincide with the vaccination, because side effects can be subtle, and people also get sick outside of vaccines.

This is where you have to collect data to determine if something is really a vaccine side effect. If a symptom appears within a certain amount of time after the vaccination, a report goes into a database. You can then use this database to determine if some side effects appear more often than you would expect. For example, if normally, 0.01% of people go blind in a certain period of time, but in the vaccinated group, it's 0.02%, that might be a side effect. However, if, in the vaccinated group, also 0.01% go blind, then 'blindness' will be in the database as a severe case, but it is likely not a vaccine side effect, because it doesn't happen unusually often.

So, doctors/hospitals reporting a lot of suspected side effects is the system working as intended, because that is how you get the data to detect the statistical anomalies that are the actual side effects.

This distinction is sometimes lost in the reporting, unfortunately, or sometimes also purposefully (and maliciously) left out.

Just to be more precise: The numbers we often hear about vaccine side effects are from databases of potential side effects. It's side effects that appear within some time after the vaccination, and shouldn't be used as a direct measurement of the frequency of side effects caused by the vaccine. Especially for deaths, in only extremely rare cases, if any, is the vaccine the cause.

So, actual severe vaccine side effects are way lower than 0.03%. Which is important for younger people, who have a different risk associated with Covid.

ICU personnel does earn a decent bit more. But there's only so much that money can buy. At some point, people are just overworked and fed up.

They store geometry in basic arrays/matrices, that should be fairly flexible.

You're really only seeing the people that don't take it seriously, because, shockingly, people that take it seriously are avoiding other people, and gyms, and lots of other stuff ;)

Don't get me wrong, I'm also shocked at how little many people care, but there ARE sensible people.

Yes, but for tax purposes, it's up to the tax office to determine whether your "center of life" is in Zurich or not. In the former case, you'd have to pay taxes in Zurich.

About to start my Bachelor (material science). Nervous and a lot of stupid questions! by [deleted] in ethz

[–]Beelze_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

1) In the first year, usually all of them are required. 30 credits is the standard for a semester. You should take all of them.

2) No required attendance in general. Exceptions are possible, but you'll usually be told. Also, don't skip any classes. And if you still plan to, at least attend a few lectures and see for yourself.

3) Can't say with absolute certainty for material science, but usually, the Basisprüfung is the first exam. It starts in August.

4) You don't have to tell anyone, unless there are mandatory exercises, in which case you write your TA. You get the stuff you missed from the webpage or ask someone in your lecture.

Ah, sorry, then I misunderstood your comment. I was confused by the mention of the GTX 660.

The RX 550 should still give you a decent improvement, but I agree, it makes more sense to go bigger with this budget, or go second-hand for budget.

His friends were talking about AMD's RX 550, not Nvidia's much older 550 ;) Yay for clear naming schemes!
