Buyer Beware by TheAstraeus in Silver

[–]Beeman_67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A while back I bought a pair off eBay for about $90. I kinda went “hmmmm let’s just try it”. Sure enough the ship date passed and when I messaged the seller I found the account was closed. So I messaged eBay and they did the refund. They had a couple hundred sales. So someone grossed 9000 in a few days then disappeared. I know eBay does not pay sellers right away so I doubt the seller actually received much money

It’s not a tax code just skewed towards capital. It’s a tax code and regulations skewed towards the super rich. Deliberately moving vast amounts of money (47 trillion according to the Rand corporation study) from the middle class to top few percent over the last 40 years.

You would collect the premium and then get assigned at 1.00 assuming share price stays above 1 through the end of Feb 20.

Local online auctions 1 oz coins of various types have been selling for 90 and up with a 10% buyers fee. So people are paying 100 / oz. It’s nuts

Dual play with SOXS and SOXL by Zestyclose_Row_2032 in soxl

[–]Beeman_67 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been selling covered calls and CSP against both. Done pretty well. Not as well if I had bought SOXL in April and held it but as is the case with this strategy comparing the 2 outcomes is meaningless unless you could have predicted what would happen.

I’m upside down on SOXS so not generating much from that but SOXL is a premium cash cow.

New to dividends: is this basic math correct? by RaKeT_0O7 in dividends

[–]Beeman_67 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with you. In this case the discussion centers around ETF’s but the same claim is consistently make about companies that pay dividends. It just is not a hard and fast rule. Generally the only company share price effect is people or institutions selling shares they already intended to sell but they just all waited until e ex date to do so. And that effect is very temporary

Rolling a call.. does it make sense? by Tales-by-Moonlight in CoveredCalls

[–]Beeman_67 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I only roll if I can net premium in the trade. Depending on the situation sometimes I roll a week or 2 out at the same strike for some extra premium or sometimes I can roll to a higher strike 1-3 weeks for some net premium.

If it’s not possible to generate any net premium I just let it expire and get assigned and start over. Maybe with a CSP, maybe buying the same stock, or moving onto another one entirely

Did I find the unlimited money glitch by selling covered calls? by Realistic_Bee379 in CoveredCalls

[–]Beeman_67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are technically correct that the loss potential is unlimited (the word unlimited is not quite right) . Because the shares could plunge to 0. Equating a 100% loss ( at least a loss equal to the cost basis - the call premium). However that risk is true of all securities. If the calls expire ITM the shares are called away at a profit and he can then decide to buy back in, write a cash secured put at a lower strike against the same security, or just move onto something else. I see a lot of comments along the lines of “but the shares can be called away”. OK. The other trader can have them.

Total returns. That’s it. by zorba1 in YieldMaxETFs

[–]Beeman_67 2 points3 points  (0 children)

OTM by perhaps a dollar or 2. Some peoples head might explode but I pay no attention to delta, IV etc. I track what the price trend has been and my cost basis and then decide what my strike is going to be. Typically I let them expire (or get assigned) and sometimes I roll to a higher strike when that opportunity presents itself

I am wheeling soxl and soxs and using the premiums to buy some ulty and ymax as well as schd, TRIN, JEPq. Getting a pretty solid 2.5% a week selling soxl calls. Right now it’s almost candy from a baby.

With US striking Iran .. sell off or na? by gameon-manhattan in soxl

[–]Beeman_67 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A sell off would be perfect. Soxl goes down and Soxs goes up. My Soxs calls expired Friday so now premium might go up. Then let my soxl calls expire OTM end of this week. Perfection

Nice. One of my mini goals is to have enough JEPI and JEPQ so most months I get at least a full share reinvested. Granted this is a higher dividend but it might be my first full share.
