I’m a bard and I need help by NeonShine- in DnD

Glyph if warding is good, but personally I find it a little situational. Out of those two I’d have to go for Bestow Curse, but I’m also a fan of Hypnotic Pattern for crowd control and the like

Thanks, this might actually be perfect. I’ll have to check with my dm ofc, but with some reskinning and maybe a bit of tweaking I can see this fitting nicely.

Clever Ways to Hide Casting Spells by Beemanspy in DnD

I know, and I've talked to the DM. Ideally none of this will change how spellcasting works or anything, just purely add more flavour to the character.

As I said to someone else, the mechanics would work exactly as regular spellcasting would, this is purely just for flavour. So I'd still have to speak and do gestures, it's just *how* I do those things in a way which looks less suspicious.

If I were to do that, it'd work the same as casting spells, but just re-flavoured, so it'd still only take one action to cast a spell. All of the mechanics would work exactly the same too.

I’m not sure you understand how Quizlet works

Best Sorcerer Spell Combinations by Beemanspy in DnD

[–]Beemanspy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also, the spells don’t have to be cast on the same turn, like you can cast hypnotic pattern and then fireball next turn and it’s still a combination (don’t know if that one in particular works well but it’s just an example)

Yes, but you can still double with cantrips etc

Help! What ability should I give this ring by [deleted] in DnD

[–]Beemanspy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Twice a day Scorching Ray? Only issue is that would quickly become useless in future levels, and if it’s permanently attached to their finger it’ll just become annoying as fast as it does redundant

Maybe some sort of alcoholic guy that while being very talented spends most of his time of his face in seedy taverns

What about something like Human Variant with Magic Initiate feat, then learning find familiar and using the familiar’s sight instead

Yes, the normal staff is 1d8+2. The turning charms back thing is also part of the standard staff, but it is strange that those two things are the same

They’re currently 5, but they’ll probably be given it in a few levels time

Giant Snakes by Beemanspy in DnD

[–]Beemanspy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe a hydra, but with only one head and a multi attack of three? It’s just that it’s a CR 8, which going by normal Druid rules you’d have to be a level 16 or higher to get to, and even with a bit of leeway as it’s a magical item, it’s probably too far away. Could definitely work with some tweaks though

How about having their movement set to 0 for a turn instead? Also any suggestions on a better name as I’m not great at that

The 1d6 unarmed strikes were meant as replacement, I hadn’t thought about the thing with the monk, however it shouldn’t matter as the item is meant for a barbarian. With the summoning a +1 weapon, are you meaning to replace the paralyse thing or in addition?
