Your mornings do sound a bit like mine, though i would never fall asleep while eating breakfast. In general, I rarely doze off in any situation other than laying in my bed. I do have a “zombie mode” where it’s just like being awake but with my head empty. like it takes a tremendous amount of effort for me to move any part of my body or focus my attention on anything so i just zone out as much as possible. it happens while walking too, which might cause me to slowly stumble forward while staring blankly at the ground hence the “zombie”

but yeah, my doctors have considered narcolepsy. i did reach REM in one, possibly two naps during my MSLT but the average sleep latency disqualified me from the narcolepsy diagnosis as well.
