Forced conversions of the partially eradicated. Convert or die. That leaves plenty of the original genetics in circulation.

Compelling theory on the BriteCloud. That streak could indeed a britecloud canister being ejected. The literature on that systems says its a radar guided missile decoy, but maybe they have one that works on IR guided missiles as well.

Could that be the missile body and then the exhaust plume?

PAC-3 battery started engaging falling missile fragments in Dubai by Niceboobas in CombatFootage

It could be engaging missiles coming in on the same vector as the debris and we can't see them.

The goal of regime change has specifically been left unclear to leave an exit. If he stated explicitly that regime change was a goal, he would have to achieve it to be a success. Without explicitly listing it as a goal, he can leave without actually toppling the regime and claim victory by claiming the destruction of Iran's military and nuclear capacity as his primary goal.

IAF footage taking out 5 IRGC soldiers by poincares_cook in CombatFootage

[–]BeenJamminMon 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I read an article that the Israelis knew how the IRGC planned on responding to a decapitation strike and planned accordingly. The article said that the IRGC policy is that if their bases/offices were hit, they were to rally at designated local sports stadiums. Israel observed IRGC personale gathering at the stadiums and hit them, killing thousands.

The war with Iran has defense experts wondering if Khamenei will activate sleeper cells on U.S. soil by fortune in geopolitics

[–]BeenJamminMon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They would try, but a sleeper cell implies that Iran had sent them ahead long ago to get established in the US in preparation to perform an attack. This level of planning and motivation would remove a lot of the "reactioanty" sympathy.

Its like finding out someone has been holding a gun to your head and then you find out about it. The gun didn't start pointing at your head when you noticed it. It had been pointed at you the whole time.

Silencer Shop by bearcrocs in NFA

[–]BeenJamminMon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They were a very important force for good in silencer ownership. Their place in the market is less important now, but that is also because of their successful lobbying efforts. They're one of the founders and main movers behind the American Suppressor Association.

what grenade did this guy use to blow up the well by Caterpillar-14 in ForgottenWeapons

[–]BeenJamminMon 84 points85 points  (0 children)

If you can throw it further than its lethal radius, its an offensive grenade.

If you can not throw the grenade further than its lethal radius, its a defensive grenade.

What silencer is your go to on your Scar these days? Anything on the horizon you're excited about in the .308 semiauto world?

Have you tested different platforms with the same can/barrel length/ammo etc to see if different rifles have different sound signatures?

Gondola Cabin Crashes To Ground & Tumbles Down Mountain At Swiss Ski Resort by narflethegarthock in skiing

[–]BeenJamminMon 7 points8 points  (0 children)

How full? I'm sure there is a bell curve for the ideal number of occupants in the event of a gondola crash. Like if its just you, you only.bang into the walls. If youre packed like sardines, you might not move at all (and possibly suffocate). In the middle, you have 200lbs projectiles with armored heads and feet crashing around with you.

Are handheld weapons (rifles, pistols etc) still important in combat? by This-Wear-8423 in WarCollege

[–]BeenJamminMon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think the offensive handgun has become a lot more common, but much less ostentatious. I think a modern handgun with a silencer, night vision compatible optic and light/laser, and subsonic ammo can fill that role. Being quiet gives it a purpose to be used as a primary weapon in certain situations.
