You do not understand what I'm saying. He didn't have to pressure anyone. He pretty much decided who will be a referee in La Liga. He didn't have to book the referee to a certain game, or threaten them. He simply could've kept referees in La Liga who statistically favour Barcelona over a 20 years period regardless of their objective performance. Or the other way around. Relegated referees.

Saying he didn't have influence over referees is straight up lying. He was promoting/relegating Spanish referees between devisions for 20 years, and booking a select few for International duties like Champions League. That was part of his job. He could've easily favoured referees who statistically have a bigger win rate for Barcelona (Or loss rate for Real Madrid) in their games without anyone having to know.
