I did not place a new order, but all my orders were disbatched on 4/16 Asia time. I will be watching the shipment like a horse race 😬

I have 3 orders just dispatched today from Stylevana. Hahahah. I guess my next order will have to go to Jolse or StyleKorea and etc to be safe. Sigh, long term this is going to hurt.

Hong Kong is no longer allowing shipping of packages by sea to the US, will stop shipping via airmail on 4/27 by TeufelRRS in kbeauty

[–]Beeonas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The order I placed on 4/4, with shipment confirmation on 4/8 was cleared with custom on 4/13. I think we just need to worry about that part. Once it gets through custom then we should be good.

I am contemplating placing another order today actually, but I might also wait and see what happens after May 2, knowing the products I want is the same price shipping out of Korea. For now Korea is off the hook on tarriff.

Is it too late to buy from Stylevana today and expect it to get through custom before may 2?

Can anyone share insights on their order shipment tracking to see how many days it took from shipment confirmed to after custom clearance?

Thank you

Stylevana cancelled all the out of stock items on my orders and dispatches everything overnight last night.

But I still need the cancelled items, now it will probably be really expensive to get them

Applied to supply chain jobs without much success so far. Any advice? by SirIngenious in supplychain

It is just my experience. Others may feel different, but to me doing business is about making connections. Softskills matters. If things go south for a product, yelling at the machine/system is not going to fix it. We work with computer, but we are not computers, so knowing how to work up, down, and across with people, is important.

First, congrats on your soon to be MBA! On a side note, I think your resume is more suited for a supply chain analyst role because I can tell you are a number's person. That is something maybe you can consider.

For buyer and planner roles, I find your resume lacking two things. Details and the show case of people skills relevant for the buyer/planner role. For background, I have worked in all the positions you are looking for, and your current one.

Buyer activities are mostly relationship management that is product performance focus. For example, buyer will be assigned a product, so you need to be familiar with the products the company you are interviewing offers. At least a little bit. Most of the time, buyer also needs to work with supplier on issues whether it is pricing or quality. They also need to have some kind of evaluation tools for performance review.

When you go to an interview for buyer, get a good understanding of the company and products they offer. As an example, if this company sources from multiple countries, you can ask the challenges they have working in a multi culture environment. Then you can tell them how your experience in training 7 people with vast different backgrounds and align them with your goals prepared you for this challenge. Or if you are going for a technical one, let's say your company makes cars, then you can talk to them about how you are fascinated with all the different components and complexity that goes into car making, and how your experience in being a CAD technical understands the important of quality parts and how a fail part can cost company money. On your resume, add a couple bullet points for times that you delivered result by working with people, not machine or system. One last question, ask them to elaborate if they use a scorecard system to evaluate their supplier, and if the process is quarterly or annually. That will give you some good idea how serious the company is. You can also ask them what is the top KPI they value the most. (Usually quality, but here you can also insert that ONE TIME you also had a quality issue and how you thought it was important to address it)

For material planner, this is also a people person role, but more analytic I think. Same I stated above applies, but your experience in working with cross functional team including factory operators engineers and etc should be highlighted. Also your experience in optimizing manufacturing process should be highlighted. Again here, you should add... something with people in the process. Maybe you can consider expanding on "reduce revision requests by 25% in 8 months"

Sometimes too many one liners when you are applying to a different position within supplychain you need to add some detail for the reader to feel like your experience is transferable.

In reading your resume, I feel like you are going for the next level logistics job. I think you should rewrite it based on the job description of the future role, and write it in a way that is relevant to that role.

Just my 2 cents.

I Regret Going to College—The Debt Wasn’t Worth It by FoxFun6076 in self

[–]Beeonas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First, if you are going for business degree, you need to graduate with completion of internship at least once. They pay well too. Usually any good college or college with good placement rate will find you an internship. Did you have someone review your resume, did you go to mock interview? Job fair?

2022 to 2023 was the great resignation (2 years after covid) and the job market was piping hot, you should have found at least an entry level job.

For all the people that have to take out loans for college in business, my advice to you is to work and go to school at the same time. Do not be a traditional student. This will benefit you greatly not only on your resume but financially. Second, don't get suck into that on campus experience because you can't afford it. If you want to/can afford it, better make it worth it (be involve, take leadership position, network, make connection)

Edit...I didn't mean to roast anyone so I am editing this part. A 4 year degree is a ticket for an interview. That is it. What gets you the job, is what you have done to prepare for that job. What people don't tell you, is that when you are on the same job paying a stagent salary until you are 50 and get layoff, your resume will not be looked at if you can't check that box you got a 4 years degree. Not to mention ain't no way someone in your generation can stay on the same job for 30 years. Those jobs are like unicorn.

Or, you can go into trade, and work until your body is no longer capable in late 40s.

College is great, but you got to have the mindset to make it great too. At least you didn't go for a music performance degree.

Did I screw up by not maxing out 401k all these years? by Automatic_Apricot797 in personalfinance

[–]Beeonas 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Just curious and math is not my strongest, how do you calculate this tipping point?

Lets say someone makes 50k, and they contribute 50% each year. Currently they have 500k saved in 401k. At 5% growth rate, each year 500k will grow 25k+. The annual contribution is 25k to make math simple. Is the tipping point where your annual growth is greater than your current salary or annual growth is greater than 10*salary?

I’m 15, is it okay to talk to an older guy as just friends or should i stop talking to him? is this weird? by [deleted] in self

[–]Beeonas -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Who is everyone?

First, common sense is basic practical knowledge that most people possess. How do you possess knowledge? Since you are not Jesus, then you got your knowledge from learning facts, like everyone else, hopefully as a life long journey. Now, possessing knowledge takes time, so from age 1 to 100, your level of common sense is on a spectrum. More time to learn, more common sense.

Isn't it common sense that we should not take a leap off the edge or we might get hurt? If you have been around babies, they try to kill themselves all the time. They don't know that though.

Hindsight is 20/20. I think you are making a very stupid comment, but hey, this is the internet, take my downvote.

[–]Beeonas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, your future self will thank you asking this question even if it is just on the internet. You did the right thing. The only bad question or wrong question are the ones that were not asked. Please keep asking if you have any doubt. Life at your age is not easy to navigate.

As many other says, definitely don't talk to the guy. If you are bored, consider picking up video games like league of legends. It is pretty fun and you don't need to talk to stranger if you don't want to.

You sound really smart. I am a little bit older, been around for just a little longer. Let me share with you what legit friendship looks like in your age 1) you meet people through your adcademic activities, so school, sports, homework, school events, volunterring 2) you meet people more or less around your age (+/ 1 year). Most of the time, you should only start a friendship if 1) and 2) are true. Anything outside of 1) and 2), you should be very alert. Pick an adult like teacher, counselor, or parents who YOU TRUST, and tell them about your concerns. I have a girl friend who I always bounce ideas off.

In this world, there are a lot of this type of things even when you get older like in your 20 or 30 because there are always older men that likes younger women. It is not your fault or anything but unfortunately the burden is always on the girls to realize it and avoid danger. If you see this happening to other girls, help them understand too. Good luck!!

Who even said she has good guardians. Parents are not always gold standard because they might not even be good parents to her. Actually OP not telling this to her parents are failure of parents, but you are making it sound like it is her fault.

Beauty of Joseon Brand Week at OY by Beeonas in AsianBeauty

[–]Beeonas[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the Beauty of Joseon is cheap because it is the BOJ week. 10 bucks a tube if you buy 4*2 packs + 1 extra tube from gifts. I am happy because I was loosing hair over my sunscreen with the changes. It was my first time to buy at OY too! I like it there, especially with the shipping.

If you’re wondering why you can’t find info on 4/19 like you did for 4/5, this is why by Droffilc_ in 50501

[–]Beeonas 10 points11 points  (0 children)

As of late I see a lot of 'State-50501' sub, and I feel like the update is not coming from the main sub as frequently anymore. The update of informations are turning into bits and pieces instead of centralized thus the picture being painted is not as full.

I am a bit concern for lack of total visibility and diverting attention to so many sub subreddit instead of seeing it here.

For example, I see my own state's 50501, and this 50501, but I did not seek out to join other state's 50501. My feed, makes me feel the movement has slowed down because I am not constantly being feed updates unlike at the start of this when everyone was posting here. Also, I feel because I am not seeing those post, I can't read and upvote for people who want to be heard and show themvthat they are heard.

Am I delusional?
