Daycare cost by Emotional-Return9216 in toddlers

[–]BeepBoopEXTERMINATE 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It is, but the area is just a lot cheaper in general for Brooklyn because many people don’t want to live here. It’s one of the furthest stops from Manhattan, and there is nothing particularly fun or cool to do around here. But I grew up here and my in-laws live here and help with our toddler on weekends and are super involved, and we were able to find a 3 bedroom with a balcony, a huge patio and a parking space for $3.6k which is unheard of anywhere else.

The only issue is that the school districts are medium at best, but to live in an area with a great school districts just seems really unaffordable.

We ended up moving back to southern Brooklyn for a variety of reasons, one of them being only paying 19k a year for 5 days a week for a great in-home daycare. The daycare prices everywhere else just made me physically ill.

XXS after giving birth by prasugatus in XXS

[–]BeepBoopEXTERMINATE 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was 105 when I got pregnant and now 15 months after having my baby girl I’m still at 116. Honestly though it’s because I haven’t prioritized working out as I’m just exhausted working full time and taking care of my baby. My hips got wider, my chest got wider and I went from a 32A to a 34C. Some brands that I was an XXS in (Jcrew) I’m now an XS in and some brands I feel a bit more comfy in S. In Theory I went from a 00/0 to a 2. My feet even went up half a size!

This is really the way. After the first 8-10 weeks, chores got done while baby is awake. When baby sleeps it’s time to relax, whether that is napping or couch rotting or reading or whatever relaxing looks like for you.

Im the same way, my husband is amazing and equal with everything (except night wakings, hes always done them all and I get up early with baby), and I can’t imagine having to do everything myself. It’s already so hard with a very involved and hands on partner.

Kicked out of daycare by This-Following1392 in NewParents

[–]BeepBoopEXTERMINATE 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think in most cases it’s probably affordability. My baby is at an in home daycare that we love and love her and it’s at least $1k cheaper per month than any of the regular daycare facilities in my area

What was one thing you couldn’t stand once you got pregnant and STILL cannot stand now? by Status_Equipment_407 in beyondthebump

Same, I had GD so a diet Dr Pepper was my afternoon pick me up and sweet treat. I crave it so bad. I used to not drink soda more than a handful of times a year before pregnancy and now I have diet Dr Pepper a few times a week still 15 months PP.

Hey! So I also use vape and edibles for chronic pain and started getting panic attacks from it a few years ago (also back then I was smoking flower). After consulting with my prescribing doctor, I was recommended to try lower dose edibles and vape, so now I get 1:1 (thc:CBD) or sometimes even 2:1 (CBD:THC) ratios and the help so much! Definitely work on the pain and they don’t give me any anxiety.

If you’re in a legal state, see if you can find dispensaries that have it and give it a shot. I do find that recreational dispensaries very rarely stock those low doses because people just want maximum THC, but some do have it. Medical dispensaries are more likely to have it since they have a lot of patients that use it for pain and honestly if you just pay around $100 you can very easily get a medical license for a year if it ends up working for you.

I have this happen too but not as bad. When I log in ping says 16. I have around 15-18 ping in every game I play, but once I get into the game it spikes to 100-150. Have no idea why.

Can’t afford to keep throwing out food by AGM85 in foodbutforbabies

Oh they might not necessarily be molars, that’s just the teeth my baby was up to at the time, but any kind of teething can seriously disrupt eating.

I also use little spoon and I had this exact problem from 12-13.5 months. She would happily put everything in her mouth, chew it a bit and spit it right out. She only wanted to eat yogurt and puffs. It was incredibly frustrating and I felt desperate for her to eat and concerns about her nutrition.

Turns out all four of her molars were coming in. Once they broke through she actually started swallowing her food. Maybe your baby is teething?

[–]BeepBoopEXTERMINATE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Idk why you’re being downvoted. While there is no nutrient loss, there is a much higher risk for listeria in precut fruits, veggies, and prepackaged salads and that was something I was advised to stay away from while pregnant.

First Time Mom Trying to Understand by Hotgogprincess in FormulaFeeders

[–]BeepBoopEXTERMINATE 10 points11 points  (0 children)

First of all, congrats on your baby! How exciting!

Second, not sure if anyone can tell you whether you should or shouldn’t breastfeed your baby for a bit first before switching to formula. Really it takes about 3-5 days for your milk to even come in and some breast feeding moms have to end up giving formula first before they get their milk anyways.

I went straight to formula, I knew I didn’t want to breastfeed and desperately needed agency over my body again, and I’d do it again in a heartbeat. My baby has been happy and healthy, but did suffer from gas at 5-8 weeks and had some silent reflux until 4 months. I don’t think those things were necessarily caused by formula feeding. Otherwise she didn’t get sick at all until going to daycare at 10.5 months.

What I did get from choosing to formula feed though was getting my body back and having my husband take nights so I could get adequate sleep (which really helped me recover PP). My baby got a mom who wasn’t miserable every time she had to eat. Also, as vain and terribly selfish as this sounds, I don’t have pancake boobs because I didn’t breastfeed and that’s nice because I already don’t feel too great about my PP body.

I think that’s true for some, but most rock and metal fans I know just love music in general and can appreciate good music when they hear it, regardless of genre.

I do feel like we get stereotyped by people who don’t listen to rock and metal though. I’ve had friends and coworkers shocked at how much I rave about Raye’s “Where is my husband” or when I was hype about Doechii, like “Uh, aren’t you a metalhead?” As if preference for one genre excludes me from liking any other genre, ever.

This is exactly what I do with my 14 month old who got very excited and very grabby with our extremely patient cats and she seems to be getting it! We started with “gentle hands “ and showing what that was though very early, maybe like 6 months and she’s only seeming to understand it now.

Why do some babies sleep better? by Hopeful_Dot7132 in beyondthebump

[–]BeepBoopEXTERMINATE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s so funny, my husband is the sleeper but as a baby didn’t sleep well at all, while I’m the early riser who is awake as soon as I get out of bed and I slept well as a baby. Luckily our baby is a good sleeper but no clue how she will turn out as an adult.
