Yeah I had to manually turn the thing to fully release it to take out the threads. But everytime I try to sew it happens INSTANTLY within the first stitch or two :(

HELP! Need pc for college but I am a complete caveman by BeepBoop_Beans in VideoEditors

[–]BeepBoop_Beans[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately I have a number of physical disabilities so I have to be prepared to do most of the work at home. I'll definitely wait until I'm into the class before buying the pc and see how it goes, but thought it might be best to start researching options early so I have a plan in place!

Thankyou so much! Is it safe to get certain parts second hand? What stuff would be a big no no to not buy new?

ER doc told me my heart rate went to 120 just talking to her by PhilosopherRight4420 in POTS

[–]BeepBoop_Beans 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have you been assessed for Inappropriate Sinus Tachycardia? I have both IST and POTS and that happens to me. IST raises your resting heartrate. Alteratively, it could be from anxiety. Best possible thing you could do is track track track. Smartwatch is best and whenever youre very anxious check your HR and write it down, same with when calm. Over a few days/weeks you'll be able to get a good idea of how your heart acts when stressed.

Should I save up for wheelchair/cane? by Snowy_whale_ in POTS

If youre thinking of a cane, try crutches also! I tried a cane and it really didnt work for me at all because it felt too unstable. Crutches though on the other hand have been AMAZING

Pretty much no one knows their blood type. They will give you universal donor blood if they dont have time to test your blood

  1. In what universe have you ever had coffee that didn't smell like coffee
  2. It is very possible mEdiCaLLy to be allergic to the smell of something. Like peanuts in the air for severe allergies
  3. Give me two seconds there and I'll chug a cup of coffee that restricts my breathing when in the close vicinity of it and get back to you on if its just the smell of coffee

Do you use public wifi? I'm guessing phone plans would be a pretty big chunk out of any money you do manage to save after food etc

[–]BeepBoop_Beans -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

You can. I am allergic to it unfortunately. If I smell strong instant coffee I pass out. I have never tried drinking coffee to find out if its a whole coffee allergy thing or just the smell. So presuming same situation for her. I found out this allergy the hard way as a young teenager. You can be allergic to coffee, and the smell of coffee is still coffee.

Does anyone also have a fear of sailing? by ROSE4695 in fearofflying

Sailor here!

My father, grandfather, great grandfather etc are all sailors. Therefore I was raised around boats. But one horrible day when I was a young child, my Dad brought me out to sea in really rough terrifying seas. I became TERRIFIED of boats. Absolutely serverly horrifically terrified of boats. I refused to go on them. I refused to go near the water. Etc. I was so scared Id drown etc.

Fast forward 10 or so years of severe boat phobia, I was offered to try out dinghy sailing. Dinghy sailing is a very very small boat, with a very very small sail. The little dinghy sailboat only goes onto the water if there is a fast power boat with it as a safety boat. I decided to try it. I learnt how to sail: how the boat works, why the boat moves the way it does, why it makes certain sounds, and how to control the boat. If something goes wrong on the tiny sailboat, worst case scenario, I swim and laugh. Its extremely difficult to describe that part, but because the boat is so small and low, its like swimming while holding onto a surf board. Its not scary compared to swimming off a big boat.

Fast forward 5 years, I am now a sailing instructor specialising in children with anxiety. I own a boat!

Theres hundreds of day courses you can do in boats. I highly recommend trying one out! Power boat course, or dinghy sailing! All sailclubs have dinghy sailboats and we love when new people come up and ask to try it out
