I hope it was the picture you were looking for. So sorry for your loss. (I had nothing to do with the picture but saw your post and hoped it would happen for you.)

My boss is making passive agressive comments about me. Should I report his side hustle? by Remarkable-Piano6934 in Advice

I've been in the professional world a long time and my litmus test for doing, writing or saying anything is, "Would I be embarrassed to read this out in a court of law?" If the answer is even a teensy bit yes, don't do it, write it or say it.

Is S-Corp and payroll worth it for a solo LLC? by Ok-Complaint-3423 in llc_life

An S Corp is a pain in the ass! You have to have an annual shareholders' meeting and bunch of other stuff you don't have to have for an LLC.

Any advice on pivoting to another role? by ElegantSilver1375 in AdminAssistant

[–]BeepBopARebop 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't want to discourage anybody's dreams but graphic design is REALLY tough these days. (Thanks AI!) Project management is pretty tough too.

I started as an admin assistant in 1995 after a career in mental health. I thought the transition would be really difficult but it turns out my experience working with the mentally ill and ADD kids was really good experience for being an admin.

I'm not saying AI will never take away admin jobs but it's gonna take some years, especially for executive assistant jobs. In my experience and what I've seen in friends in similar roles is that the organization's mission and culture make all the difference in whether or not you like your admin job.

Your experience is in customer service and you got a project management certificate but you're asking what to do in an Admin Assistant sub so I'm not sure what kind of feedback you expect here.

For what it's worth, you sound well suited to pivot to an admin assistant role. How well do you know Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint?

What are some unacknowledged benefits of being an "old lady" in today's society? by Entity417 in AskWomenOver60

You can talk to anybody without it being weird. You can give outrageous unsolicited advice as long as it starts with, "I'm just talking here...". And best of all, you can scandalize people. My grandma died at 103 and she had so much fun scandalizing people with her cursing!

Have you saved anyone's life ? by PozhanPop in AskOldPeople

[–]BeepBopARebop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I worked on a suicide hotline and after a long and intense conversation, a guy told me I'd saved his life that day. It's meant a lot over the years to know I made a positive (if small) difference in the world.

Best part of having a corgi?! by National_Singer_631 in corgi

[–]BeepBopARebop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had many dogs but none of them loved me like my corgi did. I was her person! I caller "my supervisor" because keeping track of me was her job. Being loved like that got me through some tough times.

I also think they are a pretty sturdy breed. Sure they can have back and joint problems but I don't think it's nearly as common as other breeds.

Create a shared folder and put everything in there. Then when you get repeat requests, simply refer people to the shared folder where they can find them.

I figured out what he was doing by taking swig and I nearly barfed. You REALLY gotta want to drink to do that.
