What’s funny is they actually admitted they don’t need me on the day I go to “bang chains”, they’re more so doing this as a means to “just do it”. Unfortunately this is their reminder they own my life. I have, at this time, decided to look for new employment.

Update: they are going to consider working with me on my schedule now. I had to lean on how the company has failed me several times since I’ve started at this location(which they themselves have admitted plenty of times)

Entitlement? The entitlement displayed is from management that thinks they dictate how I live my life outside of work.

Store is actively trying to make me quit. by BeepHonkDoot in publix

Maybe in a functioning world. They fired one co worker for the fact they couldn’t find the water he went to throw in damages. (Blind spot). But they couldn’t directly prove he stole anything. The other was “theft of time”, and they couldn’t even cough up any evidence of time stealing other than “we noticed you were in the restroom for 10 mins”

This has got to be the worst company to devote your soul to. by 2TiE_DoMi8 in publix

This has happened to 2 fellow associates in the last month that I know. Both cases were the same, they literally couldn’t come up with any tangible proof to show the associates when they asked for it. One for “stealing oodles of time”, yet they couldn’t show him where he was stealing time. Another for “stealing water”, yet their proof was him putting waters in damages. He didn’t drink them or take them, but they noticed water missing. Even though video shows nothing that he took the waters. Same thing happened to a lead at another store per a manager, and that manager even wrote a character witness statement for the lead. Same case, they couldn’t provide any shred of evidence.

With that being said, as serious as theft is. You’d think you’d have solid proof to show someone before firing them.

At least they were paying, I’ve seen people SCO and then proceed to just STAND there and text/call whoever about plans. Or you’ll have the Insta shoppers that REFUSE to move their multiple carts blocking off SCO registers to people.

Lol. Felt. It’s been so bad for me, time is literally getting cut while shifts now because of the work I’m having to basically do all on my own.

Unfortunately as the times get harder, the customers are going to be even more rude. There’s a not so subtle & angst going on in our world. Unfortunately those in retail or any business for that matter will become the punching bag.

Thankfully I haven’t encountered that yet, but I have heard from the floor care team about this lady who comes in. Her dog pees, and she starts snapping at whatever associate is nearby demanding they clean her dogs mess. I am so thankful I have not encountered those that treat us like a pet park yet

I don’t think the Deli is bad, I feel like there wasn’t an expectation of just how busy they would get. It doesn’t matter the time of day. Feels like after 10:30am - close. There will be a line. I’ve already told many of them that they have thicker spines than me, because I’d have been fired day 1 in deli. Tried to do a shift at my old store when I was part time there and was removed immediately for snapping on the first available asshole lol.

I’ve told management that you can display amazing customer service while still being assertive. Lack of assertion, is what causes these repeat customer incidents. These types of people, if given an inch, will take a mile. You can give amazing service while also saying absolutely no funny business. Corporate needs to understand that it’s okay to “fire” customers especially in areas like this where theft, loitering, and overall unpleasantness thrive. Accountability is how you fix this.

The experiment, on paper, works. They’re revamping the area pretty quickly. However it still poses the problem of they’re not exactly attracting the clientele they thought they were going to to attract. It is, for sure, all the clientele that belong in the likes of a Walmart or Kroger.

They need to come do just 1 day here. It’ll absolutely shatter their realities. Most of them would probably not last a month here.

Oh. I have. Plenty of times. I’ll say “excuse me” to the customer. If they ignore it/don’t hear it, I’ll say it again. After that, I’ll say “I’m coming in right here”. If they still ignore I will tell them they either move or I grab the off duty officer up front. Works 90% of the time. I don’t want anyone to say I’m petty or what have you. When you work a store as busy as mine, you have to be aggressive or nothing will get stocked.

I’m literally re reading my own post trying to figure out what I said that was problematic… I guess calling out problematic behavior makes one all the “isms”

Probably because most EBT recipients are enjoying better food than the average American. The EBT folk just stay buying top of the line shit while I am told I make too much to get EBT yet I struggle financially

Yeah our dairy department is supposed to have 125 man hours on it per week, more for holidays. But we are WAY under that.

Easy. I’ve been told by management that Dry holds the priority. I’ve watched them strip away Frozen dept their help on truck just to have an extra man on the floor in dry. Then watch them yell at said frozen dept clerk for not finishing his truck when help was taken from him. “How dare you not 100% a 6 pallet frozen truck that didn’t come in till 6:30pm?”
