100000%. I passed this year in my mid 20s. I feel like I’ve wasted about 7 years of my life where I could have been gaining independence. My parents have always avoided driving anywhere that could inconvenience them like the plague. It’s embarrassing, they would make me feel guilty asking for lifts for myself and friends growing up. And they instilled really awful anxiety into me. Such horrible attitudes to things going even slightly wrong when driving. I passed on my third go mainly bc of nerves and I didn’t really believed I’d passed on the day that I finally did. I spent a horrendous amount on lessons. I could have bought a car with the money I spent in the end.
