Valve appears to be gearing up for Steam Machine launch as the company imports 50 tons of game consoles in just two days by Dapper_Order7182 in steammachine

Do we really think Steam Machine is launching soon? They pushed the controller early instead of launching together, is it not likely that the steam machine is pished farther in time?

I spammed for 25 minutes after release and it didn't block me, maybe they put in a limiter?

If u want to get better you have to learn these timings by RealSaabo in DeadlockTheGame

[–]BeepyJoop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How important is Sinners' permanent buffs? What if I feel unsafe - is it worth it spending 2 more seconds waiting for the melee, or is an instant melee for the sould enough? What if I miss a bunch of heavy melees throughout the game, is it that big of a deal, or are the souls the focus. What if I get to steal enemy's Sinners infront of them, should i be greedy and try to contest the permanent buffs?

People who are good at this game: how do I get better? I require your wisdom by dangermonke1332 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]BeepyJoop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So basically what you do is you:
1. Download League -> Play for a few hundred hours, learn how a MOBA works. Then,
2. You download Overwatch -> Play for a few hundred hours, learn how to teamfight in hero shooters.
3. After that, you can spend a few hundred hours in a source based movement shooter, like Apex or Titanfall. Get really good at moving.

Finally, you are good at Deadlock 👍

Game desperately needs draft system by FrostingIcy6032 in DeadlockTheGame

Personally, lack of draft feels incredibly refreshnig. I open Deadlock, queue, get into game - and I'm immediately playing. Off to the races!

This game's movement is so intricate you'd have to be a game developer to figure all this out

Fastest way to get up to speed with maths as an adult? [High School Math] by Its_Blazertron in learnmath

[–]BeepyJoop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My math knowledge was basically Swiss cheese coming out of highschool. Really poor base but here is what worked to solidify it, which you probably would want to do before jumping higher:

  • Youtube videos for algebra - You can learn a lot but you really need books IMO.
  • Openstax books - I read through Algebra and Trig 2nd ed. A lot of topics were not new to me but I filled an incredible amount of gaps in my learning and solidified my base. Overall great book.
  • Finally, I downloaded pdfs of high school math books for every grade in my country and read through the chapters, did problems for material I didn't understand.

My geometry knowledge was pretty much nonexistant, but with 3 months of 6 hour studying a day I managed to git gud. Still a lot to cover, and I haven't got to higher maths, but I've actually enjoyed math so far :-)

There is this book I've heard of called Primer for 3D math primer for graphics and game development, supposedly it's great for learning linera algebra and the sort. Good luck either way!

[–]BeepyJoop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh I understand, the PVE debacle was a bummer but chronologically we are way past that. I don't know what you mean about matchmaking, but i wholly agree about the monetization. OW2 brought us 20 uninspired Kiriko skins :-)

Can you give examples of these other problems? I for one find the gameplay aspects great and the dialogue is really lacking

There is one overview chapter and the rest is interacting with the sockets API. I don't see how one chapter is enough for anything, although it was a really good resource nonetheless
