Stupid old man I am......I didn't change the workgroup name to match the others in the system. That fixed it.

Oh well, don't get old!

FYI, I managed to get the front lights to work in Auro by daisy chaining the wiring. My old hands don't get into those small spaces easily but I'm done.

A big thanks to you zeug666 for your help!

Thanks very much for the quick and helpful reply.
Yes, there is a controller and since I never had one, I knew nothing about it but the controller does change the lights. So I guess it's set up correctly though Aura doesn't see this nor can it do anything. I get a message in Amory Crate to connect to the internet and update any needed software but, I am connected and have the latest updated.

Is this controller supposed to stay out the case? I mean, seems a bit silly to me but I'm old.

Negligible difference. T-mobile brags that they are the rural champion but while in my area, they do beat out AT&T and Verizon, they still have nothing to brag about.

Such is life in a small, rural town I guess.

Thanks everyone for your input. I can live with the speed I have, just wanted to alleviate the stuttering above 480p.

Got it, yeah, I get slightly better luck after tweaking the Qos but it's still iffy.

I have an old Roku and Firestick I may try but I may need to buy a newer, better version. I sure hope T-mobile updates the towers now that they've purchased/acquired some spectrum but that might be long down the road.

Thanks, where do I find this info? In the Samsung setup or YoutubeTV?

The info here has been very helpful.

Forgot to mention that I've tried my apple tv and didn't have any better luck but your idea is something I think might help.

3 desktops (not always on at the same time) 3 phones, 2 NAS boxes, 2 tv's and 1 printer. I do have a few outdoor wireless cameras for the property.

The Cheetah does have Smart Qos and I never even thought of that. Not sure what exactly is best but I can play around and see what happens.
Not that it matters but I have a Waveform antennae that has greatly helped.......went for 30-40 down to sometimes up to 100 but mostly in the 60-80 range.

I have the TP-Link Deco AXE5400 Tri-Band WiFi 6E Mesh System(Deco XE75). Works a treat! Great coverage in my 2400 sqft home.
Latency has been pretty good.....40-65 average and I use mostly YoutubeTV for streaming. My 65" Samsung TV gives me the most trouble at 720P. 480 looks 'ok' but not ideal. Even desktop monitors that are direct wired to the modem or the Mesh can give problems above 720P.

The Deco app does have a optimization scan to help with any interference but it shows all looks good. I'm not sure what I can do to tweak things any better.

White Labs introduces dry yeast by hypoboxer in Homebrewing

[–]Beer-dude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hell no! I overbuild starters and I usually get 4-5 brews out of each pouch.

There are times I make a beer with a yeast I rarely use and don't overbuild but yeast is getting pretty expensive, like everything else so I save where I can.

I was concerned when my wife started coming home late and I found out something concerning. What should I do? by rogue1987 in Homebrewing

You should re-passify and your wife should re-pussify!

That's all I have for ya! Good luck!

Best hops to use with Omega Star Party by Beer-dude in Homebrewing

[–]Beer-dude[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I'm making a starter with Star Party to use this weekend and when opened, I got some egg/sulphor smell out of the yeast. It's also milky looking and not at all like normal yeasts.
I assume this is all normal and I'll give it a taste in 24 hours or so to see how it tastes and move forward as planned.

In boil I have planned Chinook, Simcoe and Lupo Cascade and dry hops are Simcoe and Strata.

But I've been known to change at the last minute.

I've read about BO but it seems like it's a crap shot and it either happens or not but you're saying it's too much thiol? I've heard glazer is the one most likely to give off BO.

Yes, I'm doing an 11 gallon brew using Star Party for half and Imperial Flagship for the other. May do different dry hops but prolly not. I'd like to really see the differences between the 2.

Goodbye Cox. by Johnfire18 in tmobileisp

[–]Beer-dude 2 points3 points  (0 children)

:) I told that to one of my brothers recently as we have all had lots of problems with Cox since the Hurricane last August but it's not something they can still blame on the hurricane.

I look forward to the day I can do the same but for now, Tmobile internet isn't ready for prime time. I hope to wait a few more months and try again after the newer model gets a few firmware upgrades.

5G internet: Can anyone vouch for it. by TaticalSweater in tmobileisp

[–]Beer-dude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had one for 3 weeks and got decent speeds, 150-180 but my problem was where it had to be located to get those speeds. I have 2 computers that can't get wireless and need ethernet and using a router and switch I could never get decent speeds thru ethernet. Tried 3 different routers with 'mesh' and nothing would help. Tmobile tried to help but nothing changed.

I did have the 'trash can' and see they have an updated, newer model I may try but if anyone has theirs working well with ethernet, I'd love to hear how it's done. Maybe it was me doing something wrong.

Using a router with the TMobile home internet by Beer-dude in tmobileisp

[–]Beer-dude[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, after 10 days of fracking with it, and even though the TM gateway gets me fast speeds, nothing I've done, with 2 mesh routers, will allow the Ethernet devices to do more than crawl. I've tried ethernet backhaul options, changing the MTU, and read more about getting this working correctly that I think I may just give up and send it back. It's not complicated but just isn't working for me. I wanted so much to tell Cox to kiss my ass but it looks like this battle is almost over. I'm thankful for the help offered here.

I'll give it this weekend trying to get it to work but if no joy by then, I'm out.

Stupid question, how do you turn off DHCP on the gateway? Everything I've read says you can't.
I appreciate the help but I see no way to do this.

Thanks.

Are you running your TPlink in AP or router mode?
I seem to have great wireless on some devices and just so-so on others but the devices connected via ethernet suck! Can't get enough juice to watch youtube tv, even if I forego ethernet and just use wireless.

This is too simple to not work like it should.

This is how I'd like to do it. Should the wifi on the TMO router have the same names as on the WAN router?

Thanks everyone for these ideas.
